The NIT "auto" qualifiers are the First 4 out as announced by the NCAA as well as 2 from each of the "Power 6".
Particularly sucks this year where just 11 of 32 #1 seeds won their conference tournaments.
A10 gets Richmond, Loyola, VCU and St. Joe's in the field.

I obviously haven't been paying attention to new developmens for the NIT. Even if the A10 gets 4 bids, I agree with you that the process sucks.Derek Smith wrote: ↑Sun Mar 17, 2024 9:48 pmThe NIT "auto" qualifiers are the First 4 out as announced by the NCAA as well as 2 from each of the "Power 6".

4 A10 teams under the new selection process isn't bad.
Wake Forest is going as well. They're playing Appalachian at home Wednesday.
Pitt declined a NIT Invitation.

Hard to beleive that Xavier got an NIT bid. I like Xavier but good grief, that was the worst team they have had in thirty years.
"That wasn't an upset tonight," Kansas coach Bill Self said glumly. "They controlled the game," Self said. "They whipped us."

Xavier is 16-17. They're playing at Georgia, which finished 17-16.
None of the A10 teams in the NIT is hosting a game. Richmond plays at VPI.
High Point is playing in some Tournament, not the NIT, and might be hosting a game. WGHP had a tease about it, but I wasn't going to watch the rest of their news to figure out who/where they were playing.
High Point is playing in the CBI and is the 1 seed. They have a first round bye. Other teams in the field are Evansville and Chicago State. The games are in Daytona Beach.
