Compare 68-69 schedule with the current one. Are too many cupcakes bad for one’s longterm health? Discuss among yourselves.

I love reminiscing about the glory days, but in fairness the sports landscape was totally different. Also, in all fairness teams like Texas, Maryland and Michigan were not that good. Davidson only had 8 road games.

Michigan finished 4th in the Big 10 and was led by the formidable Rudy Tomjanovich. As I recall, Doug Cook broke Rudy’s nose with a well-placed elbow on a rebound.

Yes, New Year’s Eve 1968. Cats up 71-47, put in the subs and won 94-82.

Cook certainly would have his hands full with Washington. Washington could have killed Rudy.

Holy cow! How many noses did Doug break? I already posted about seeing him break the nose of a Princeton player’s nose, as I saw him do it in person. I also attended the DC/Michigan game seeing Doug Cook go up against Tomjanovich, but don’t remember any hard foul on Doug in that game.

He pretty nearly did.

Just finished watching Charlotte Niners defeat Wichita State, improving their home record this season to 12-1, (11-2 in conference). The sole blemish on the Niners home record is their early season loss to us. That Cats win at Concrete appears to be our best performance/victory of the season.

That's impressive. I had no idea that the Niners have been (or could be) that successful this late in the year. Go Niners! Lace up those Dancing shoes.
