Grant's was a dunk. Reed's wasn't. It was our first basket of the second half. Counted. Should have been called off. He drove, released the ball, grabbed the rim, the ball hit the backboard and dropped while he was hanging on the rim. Fooled the announcers, fooled me live. Fooled Beth, too. I just showed her the replay. Not a dunk. Bogus basket. We're taking it, though.

It looked to me that the ball rolled into the basket more easily because the rim was bent down. It might have rolled around anyway and gone in. Hard to say.

It was legal for him to be holding the rim, I gather. It would have been a goal-tend, I guess, if the ball contacted his hands on the way down and rolled back into the basket. Maybe his hands prevented the ball from rolling off. But not I, nor the officials, nor Sink, nor Beth, could see that at the time. I’ve not watched a slomo replay.

Skog did have a really nice tip in that was obviously not goaltending since he hit the ball below the rim. It would be nice if our players could do that more often.

I watched a slowed-down replay. If that's a legal goal, the rules have changed. Clear basket interference.

That was a funky crew doing the game last night. One of them looked like Bill Covington.

With a video review and a conference between the officials parsing the rules, they could have easily reached the same conclusion. They seemed to ignore a lot of other things as well, so probably no appetite for that.

Good crew last night.
I thought they missed a lot and called one foul late in the game way after the incident occurred.
