Gotta love a guy whose nickname is "Big Hoss."

I guess I don't understand our interest in senior transfers. The two guys from Cornell, for instance, are both seniors who saw a lot of time on the court. Surely they're looking for something like a step up to a P5 program for a 1-time shot at the tourney. I also wonder how many senior transfers have already graduated and are looking for a grad school year (which we can't offer)?

The new rule has allowed schools like Davidson to take grad transfers. I don’t think it will be the normal practice for the Cats going forward, but who knows.

Thanks! That's weird.

What is the new rule? You can just enroll and take classes even if you are not pursuing a degree? I’m assuming these Ivy guys will graduate this spring.

Did Foster get a degree from Davidson? Seemed like he could and I assumed he did. But transfers to Davidson after 3 college years are not something I had heard of.

Correct. If one of these grad guys comes to Davidson they will take classes but not get any type of degree. This is my understanding.

Yes, Foster did graduate from DU.

The loss of the four year progression at Davidson reduces the allure of the program for fans like me. I always enjoyed watching the players develop over their four year tenures. Sad.

The first Davidson grad to be an NBA head coach!

There are 15 schools listed for him. The other 14 are at a level above us. He'd be a great steal for us.

Missouri may play in a better league than we do, but very poorly.

Furman needs to pay us back for Darrell Floyd.

Davidson interest in transfer Tim Moore, Jr., 6’6 G, Sr., Benedict(D2).

An All-American at the D2 level.

Moore would immediately become the best athlete on the team.
Got hops, for sure.

A very tough scenario for Davidson. In the old days we could patiently cultivate players in high school for a couple years, and then secure two or three quality recruits who knew both our coaching staff and our basketball needs well. Now, when the portal opens, we have to jump into the deep end scramble with all the sharks, many of whom are waving giant wads of cash.

I've never seen him play, but local media describe him as "freakishly athletic" with a "near 45-inch vertical."
