We don't need a 6'1 PG at the moment, unless we find one who is a lights-out shooter. We need a 6'6" swing player with a truculent disposition who can defend and rebound like crazy - like Brooks or Kosmalski.

We need to get quicker vertically. If everyone stays (unlikely in this new transient portal world), we have some excellent building blocks.
I think we do need a PG. I think it's the major, glaring need. I am not convinced that Brizzi is our PG of the future. To my eye he plays recklessly and out of control a lot of the time and he's still making the same mistakes he made early in the season--driving in too deep, stopping the ball, nowhere to go with it. Just not seeing great PG instincts from him. Not saying he can't get there--he has some positives in his defensive ability, and his shooting stroke looks good, but he'll need help regardless, even if he moves into the starter role.

We need a PG with a calm, cool head who knows how to run a team and can see the play developing ahead, who can reliably shoot the 3 and make free throws.

Regarding the swing player, I think we already have the guy you are talking about on our team, and he came in second behind Durkin for the Colt 45 award. I'd love to see Adam as a defensive specialist/rebounder who could take the open 3 when it fit the offense. I think he has the physical skills to be that type of player, and he's a little feisty too, which helps. I'd love to see him be coached in this direction.
Can’t believe y’all are arguing whether we need a PG or a D-first wing. We have those players! Brizzi will be a great PG for us when he gets the TOs under control, which he showed evidence of in second half of season.

What we need are guys at every position that can knock down threes. We shot 30ish percent from three against D1 opponents. That doesn’t cut it when your offense is designed to get backcut layups and doesn’t involve a lot of dribble-drives.

Durkin and Kochera can shoot well enough, and I’m sure some others (hopeful for Hunter especially) will improve in the off-season. But what we really need is a ringer guard that can walk in the gym cold and knock down >40% from three a la Lee, MJ, Sullivan, Cochran. All the best Davidson teams have that player. We should be searching the world over for the next one.
Agree, three things I hope happen during the off season, looking for a new pg is not one of them
1. Two hours of shooting practice 5-6 days a week
2. Continue the weight training
3. Work on weaknesses, ie Durkin ( scoring off the dribble) Logan and Bailey ( finishing with either hand)
The team will contend for the A-10 next season, if the players work on their game

We did have previous interest and, at one point, he was expected to visit. Not sure that ever happened.

Lots of Ivy League players in the portal - Dartmouth, Harvard, Penn and Yale. A couple of UMass, Stanford and other players have also entered the portal.

Given Rikus entering the portal, thought I would do an early update of where we stand.

The Kool-Aid list reflects publicly available sources, typically internet recruiting or social media sites (e.g., Rivals.com, Verbalcommits.com, Twitter, etc.), and published reports. The list is maintained for entertainment purposes only. It contains no information received from coaches or recruits. It should be updated approximately every five pages. For purposes of calculating open scholarships, this list assumes that reported non-scholarship players are still non-scholarship, that players in the transfer portal will not return and that no players other than Connor Kochera will take an extra COVID year. The list also now separates players who are publicly reported to visit, or have visited, Davidson.
