If this is based on the fact that Davidson is not in the B1G or ACC and the other 6 finalists are, I would look at it this way, it is one of them or Davidson.CastleCat wrote:I wouldn't get your hopes up on Beran
To (sort of) paraphrase Captain Beefheart, if you want to be a different fish, you have to go to a different school.
Maxwell Lorca Lloyd was getting SERIOUS interest from P5s and decided to go to PENN. PENN is the Ivy League, and comes with some academic acclaim rightly or wrongly perceived to be higher than Davidson - we should be capitalizing on this equal to Harvard or Penn. Our facilities, strength of schedule, and likelihood of playing higher quality players and reaching NCAA more frequently should appeal to high school players. Amaker has pitched Harvard degree with opportunity to play in NCAA each year and has attracted strong recruits - Penn is doing the same. I would argue MLL would have gotten a very strong education at Davidson with a much higher ceiling through development and quality of schedule to reach a professional career. But to each their own. I am most worried about Northwestern - they have managed to steal a few from us in recent years and the allure of Big10, Chicago, and education is a great pull.
I can only highlight that the knowns are known with respect to Davidson and the staff around Bob seems to be getting better, and in some ways younger and more relevant to this age of recruit. I think that helps us. I keep waiting for Kellan to make his presence known - pull an NMH guy or two to play alongside.

With that supporting evidence, consider me convinced.CastleCat wrote:Just based on factRichmondCat wrote:If this is based on the fact that Davidson is not in the B1G or ACC and the other 6 finalists are, I would look at it this way, it is one of them or Davidson.CastleCat wrote:I wouldn't get your hopes up on Beran
