I would be happy if I were sad. Confused, but happy.collegecoach8502 wrote:Can I be happy despite being sad?RichmondCat wrote:Don't be sad?collegecoach8502 wrote:All of these silly notations really puts me at bey.
As would Golden or any other transfer.BDL wrote:Even if *theoretical* player was reconsidering his commitment; he would have to get out of his LOI.
A lot of coaches can be a**holes about that and force guys to take PG years instead of releasing them straight out.
Because Stallings was fired, I believe (99% sure) that Golden was released from his LOI and wouldn't have to sit out a year.collegecoach8502 wrote:As would Golden or any other transfer.BDL wrote:Even if *theoretical* player was reconsidering his commitment; he would have to get out of his LOI.

Just because a coach is fired doesn't mean a school has to release a player from their NLI, whether it be Pittsburgh, San Diego, NC State or Portland. The options for the release are at the hands of the school and despite the conditions for which one would want to transfer, based on whether they have signed a NLI and/or whether they have started classes and/or whether they have played any games.BDL wrote:Because Stallings was fired, I believe (99% sure) that Golden was released from his LOI and wouldn't have to sit out a year.collegecoach8502 wrote:As would Golden or any other transfer.BDL wrote:Even if *theoretical* player was reconsidering his commitment; he would have to get out of his LOI.

We don't have to assume anything. If he's applied already, then they can update his file and see if he is one we can admit. If he hasn't, he would apply and send transcripts, etc. and be reviewed for admission.BDL wrote:Also, how does the admission process work at this stage? Lets theoretically say that player A had interest in Davidson before but committed to another school in December. Now he has decommitted and likes us a lot. Do we assume he has already applied? Is there a special exception made?
