Watching the Kellan Grady tape from the Prep National Title, looked like Murphy, who was very highly regarded as a sophomore which led to some bigger offers, didn't develop like many anticipated. From what I saw it looked like the CAA will be a good fit for him and hope he succeeds there.

Ricky Lindo Jr. picked up offers from Harvard and Yale. I think it's time to stop kidding around and let him know how good he'll look next to KG

Aaron Nesmith of Porter Gaud (6'5"/6'6" wing in the class of 2018) seems to have seen his recruitment pick up of late. Davidson should have some PG connections somewhere. Jared Cochran was a PG grad, right?

Looks like Nesmith's teammate Jake Lanford, a 2018 big, is pretty good too. Both look to be strong students.

If he comes, he'll have someone to cheer for him--I think?

In between the girls' and boys' varsity basketball games Tuesday night against Pinewood, we took a moment to honor the hard work, dedication, and commitment of our senior student-athletes.
McRae Lawrence, daughter of Sally and Chris. McRae came to Porter-Gaud as a member of our first kindergarten class. She has cheered for both football and basketball, as well as on our competition team, and is a captain of this year's cheer squad. She has earned the coaches' cup and MVP awards, as well as being recognized as All-State this season. McRae is a member of the senior leadership council and the student vestry, and is also a service leader. She will attend Davidson University next fall.

I mentioned Matt Ryan as a transfer possibility a few weeks back because we pursued him out of high school, but he just committed to Vanderbilt, and I don't think we pursued him at all as a transfer. Just updating in case some were holding out hope.

New offer to add, 2018 wing Miller Kopp out of Texas. Looks like a similar prospect to Hunter Tyson (listed at 6'6"-6'7" range), had a good weekend at Under Armour and just received offers from Wichita State, Northwestern and Miami prior to getting one from us. Was not recruited much prior to this weekend.

Recent video linked below, there is some video of him on YouTube but it looks pretty old, he's much more athletic now.

New Riley Battin highlights: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=tMpVEOtW87g

Was recently offered by Ivy League schools and places like Bucknell and Utah State. Still think the biggest threat for him is Northwestern, but hopefully the fact that he is a skill-over-athleticism player keeps major Pac-12 programs away (since he is a west coast/academic guy, Stanford could also be really tough to beat if they decide to offer him). He does look notably quicker and slimmer in more recent highlights than during his sophomore year.

Easy-peasy: should he commit to DU, we get him; should he commit to HU, we get him - the Meat Loaf solution.

An email from a friend in Atlanta who pays close attention to the local high school scene, regarding Duke recruiting a 3-star kid:

In a nutshell - Coach K has become disenchanted with the "one and done" recruiting philosophy that they tried to follow the past few years.

Moving forward they now want
to still recruit 5-star guys but also mix in "program" players that can
help maintain their culture.

They were very honest with Jordan from the beginning - he is not expected
to play his first year but is asked to reestablish a healthy locker room,
program culture, etc.
