JUCO? When was the last time we had one of those, 1990-1991...Jeff Chapin?citycat wrote:We need a healthy 4/5 who can play in '17-'18. Will, Dusan, and Nathan have been injured for significant parts of their careers. It is difficult to believe they will all be healthy the entire year.
Since we do not graduate programs for a graduate transfer, we need a freshman or a JUCO transfer.

We looked at a JUCO 2-3 years ago. He could have been admitted, but the coaches decided to give the scholarship to another prospect.
The student athlete went to another school and did well on the court and in the classroom.

I strongly agree. I think about it this way: where would the team have been without Andrew?citycat wrote:We need a healthy 4/5 who can play in '17-'18. Public reports aren't typically very plentiful when it comes to Davidson recruiting, but I've been surprised that I haven't seen anything about 2018 bigs.

Belmont and Davidson will be at Corbin today to see 2018 PG @andrewtaylor_21 before the Certified Period this weekend.

'17/'18 is all about staying healthy. If we do, we'll be fine. We've been trained to shudder at the thought of staying healthy, though!wildforthecats wrote:Guys that will play the 4-5 in 2017-18

Guys like Uncle K and Luke might sneak in at the 4.
I think our guard play and depth will be absolutely fine by the time we reach February, if not sooner. If Will, Peyton, and Nate stay fully healthy, we'll be liking what we see on the court from this team. I'm nervous to assume health for Dusan, but of course am hopeful.
Now, '18/'19 is another story ... obviously, we are hopeful of recruiting news that speaks to filling that huge void we will have up front. That's a worry for another day ...

In all the recent posts about our need to land a Big for 2018, little (word used advisedly) has been said about progress in sizing up chances we have to hook Robert Bobroczky, out of Austinburg, Ohio. My understanding is that Big Rob has, since last photographed in Late January, bulked up to a heady 210 wet pounds.
