As Dave Prichett memorably said: "there's a pretty girl on every street corner of America, bit a shot blocking big man is hard to find."

Michael Jacobson would be an excellent transfer prospect. Just announced that he is transferring from Nebraska. A strong 6-8 or 6-9 4/5 with the ability to play inside and out. An excellent student. Don't know if he wants to leave the Midwest.

Very true, but for the first part of the season he played like he didn't realize he was 7'0 (or 6'10 or whatever). He needs extensive work on going up hard and catching the bal and of course attacking aggressively.
I actually think that Will's play became noticeably more aggressive in the latter portion of the season, and his production picked up as a result. I'm confident he will be an even bigger plus, next year.
This was most noticeable when he would hedge on high ball screens. He did a much, much better job of bending knees and moving his feet.

If he continues to develop his ability to do this (bend knees, move feet), it will have a major impact in every aspect of his play. It will make him a stronger rebounder, reduce his fouls, enhance his offense in the paint, and improve his post defense.

That kind of Will is first team A-10, 20 pts, 10 boards, 2+ blocks a game and a legit prospect to be a stretch 4 in the league some day.

Just a recruiting note for anyone with interest in DC track or soccer -- a couple of kids in our neighborhood are legit prospects I expect have the academic chops for DC. I hope DC will take a look at them.

Wes Jeter is a soph midfielder in soccer. Of the 13 kids in Tenn on this All-America watch list, all are seniors but 2. He is one of the 2 sophs. https://www.topdrawersoccer.com/highsch ... /index.jsp

Wes is a very good friend of my son, rides with him to school, has spent the night at our house a number of times. His mom is a very good friend of my wife. She is a doctor, chief of staff of UT Med Ctr. Father is a vet. (Last summer the boys worked at the vet clinic for their summer jobs). Parents both went to Millsaps. Wes is in William's Alg II BC class -- that track leads to Calculus BC senior year. Farragut has about 25 kids a year that make 5s in AP Calculus BC.

Rebecca Story is a jr distance runner, one of the best in the country. http://www.knoxnews.com/story/sports/hi ... /95260684/

She lives around the corner. Don't know her academics, but Mom has a law degree. Uncle went to Vandy law school. She goes to CAK. Swims on the neighborhood summer swim team with Wes and William. My wife loves her. Great person.

Super kids, Davidson quality character, All-American athletic talents.

[note -- Austin Bilhmeyer, the other Farragut soccer player on the All-America watch list, is part of a family whose kids swim on our neighborhood team. Swimming is good.]

Brandon Stone, who made an unofficial visit to Davidson in March, is reclassifying to 2019 and transferring from outside of Pittsburgh to Christ School in Arden, NC.

Probably means nothing but it has to be beneficial to have a target close by/in-state

Is that good for us? Do we have a relationship with that school? Any new news up for Hunter Tyson? I'd love to get him.

Any thoughts on Reuter or Ryan (who I saw visited Vandy - at least seems to be getting the drift that he won't be playing much either at UCLA or St. Johns)

Christ school graduates two or three D1 recruits each year. You may remember those three brothers who played for Duke not long ago.

Don't know how literal to interpret this prediction, but from phenom hoops regarding 6'6" 2018 shooter Trey Murphy... http://www.phenomhoopreport.com/news_ar ... id=1555437
Schools need to go ahead a jump on him now. We forsee his recruitment going like Carter Collins did last year, picking up 20 or so offers between April and July and ending up at Davidson.
He plays for Carter Collins' grassroots program, which could be the cause for the comparison, as we were not listed among the current schools recruiting him. But per the article, his stats from the last season: 21.3 PPG, 43% from three, 53% from the field and 94% from the free throw line. Not in desperate need of shooters, but with ~5-6 spots to fill, those numbers aren't too shabby.

Murphy's release point on his three point shot looks low. Even at his height, that might be a problem for him at the next level.

His stroke is similar to Kishawn's.
