My soph son played in an AAU tournament in Gatlinburg this weekend. His team lost yesterday to a team from SW Va. Their best player was a soph named Zac Ervin, 6-5 must have been 210 or so. Excellent shooter, he played PG, SG (whatever he wanted) and scored 29 in a 103-90 win. Tough matchup. Too quick for our bigs, too big for our quicks. He'll play DI for sure.

Plays at Gate City in Va. He has a teammate in high school who is a 6-1 junior PG with offers from Marshall and UTC. Name -- Mac McClung. McClung looks like a kid who played for the SW Va team, but I didn't see these kinds of hops in the game yesterday.

This dunk highlight reel is worth watching. Seriously. http://www.hudl.com/video/3/4919882/58b ... 332c3dc4d6

Mac McClung is dunktastic.

Not only the dunks: the three-point show he put on against Dan River (it follows the dunk video) is impressive. His quick release reminds me of someone ...

Our player in Poland got a nice promotion to Spain. As well as he played in Poland, maybe some potential players have Davidson on their radar.

And there are two younger players with Polish last names who I've heard aspire to follow in their brother's footsteps.

My son's AAU team has two brothers from Ukraine. Tall and very tall. Last name is long. Very long. Looks like two Eastern European names joined together.

Something like Kolostnynovacheck, but I think I'm leaving out a few syllables.

Verbal Commits transfer list is up to 368. Eight names have been added since midnight. Akyazali (sp), the guard we recruited who chose Colorado, is new on the list.

Billy Wampler is transferring from Drake. I wonder if we still are interested in him? As sophomore he averaged 9.6 pts but only 2.5 rebounds in 22 minutes for Drake. His stock as high school senior was on the rise, but has been pretty average at Drake.

Would seem unlikely that we would take a transfer who played the 1, 2, or 3. I feel really, really comfortable with our roster at those positions for the next 3-4 years.

Any transfer should be a 4/5. Even if they only could give us 2 years, that would be worth it (a la Will Magarity). Barring a last-minute signing in the Class of 2017, I'm nervous about our frontcourt for Fall 2018, at which point our current roster will return only Dusan (amongst scholarship players). A transfer this spring would at least give us a 2nd big with a year's training with the team under his belt at that point.

Lots of moving pieces ... I'll sit back and enjoy watching what comes our way. Not my job to recruit 'em or worry about 'em :)

As it is we only have 1 proficient post scorer... we need a rugged, low post scorer. Id be over the moon if we get Reuter but I also would be happy with Ryan even though he doesn't fit our exact needs.

Hmmm, are you referring to fall 2017 or fall 2018? I feel pretty good about next season, with Will, Nate, and Peyton as proven players (with varying strengths, obviously), and Dusan hopefully able to play and contribute. Its fall 2018 that I'm worried about, when only Dusan would be coming back with any experience. I assume we will have some success recruiting bigs from the HS Class of 2018, when they will have terrific opportunity to step right in, but they will be young and inexperienced.

So, I agree with you about getting someone like Reuter or Ryan, to add another big or big'ish body with experience that would be eligible to play come fall 2018.
