Fingers crossed. Any visit at a football powerhouse during a huge game makes me nervous so hopefully it isn't scheduled for this weekend.

We've lost recruits to Clemson before. We even had an amazing guard transfer from Davidson to Clemson. Clemson is in a great conference. I understand the appeal and the draw. But I really think Davidson would have been better for Chris Dodds, Bernard Sullivan, etc. Is it a better choice for Hunter Tyson? No idea. I hope he chooses us. I think he'd excel in our system.

Bob rarely brings a recruit in on a football day or take them to a game. Tries to eliminate the comparison.CatsUpNorth wrote:https://twitter.com/DavidsonMBBRecr/sta ... 6259167232

Reading the full article attached to the post doesn't make me optimistic, but this is one I'd love to wrong on.CatsUpNorth wrote:https://twitter.com/DavidsonMBBRecr/sta ... 6259167232

I am definitely optimistic. I think Davidson offers more than Clemson in nearly every facet. The basketball team is better (see top 144 rankings for confirmation). The coaching staff is better (see almuni in professional leagues over the globe). The campus is more beautiful and offers more recreational activities (hello, lake campus). And we all know what being a Davidson College graduate means for career opportunities. The only thing I think Clemson might have over Davidson is a better football team (not sure as both schools are 1-0 currently).

Clemson has always been a a major threat for Tyson, so I wouldn't say this article makes me any more or less nervous about them. I am happy that he seemed to enjoy his visit to Davidson enough to mention it unprompted to a Clemson reporter, and that we have made his final 2 over schools like Michigan, Tennessee and Wake Forest.
However, in recruiting, the Ricky Bobby saying "if you're not first, you're last" holds true. Would love for this to be resolved soon and hope he chooses to represent the school I love.

Riley Battin's visit at Utah is a home game against San Jose State, which I'm sure would be fun but is no Clemson-Auburn. His Ohio State visit, however, happens while the team is on the road, which makes me feel a lot better.TiredCat88 wrote:Bob rarely brings a recruit in on a football day or take them to a game. If we add Hunter Tyson and Riley Battin, we'll be really good. At least as strong an RPI as the 4th or 5th best team in the ACC. I'd be stunned if Clemson finishes in the top 4 or 5 in the ACC more than once in the next few decades. Joel Welser has them at #13 in this season's ACC.
