One of my favorite movies. The scene with the truck that is set to the Mendelssohn is great. The speeding ticket was a great touch. A lot of talented young actors appeared in the film. Many wound up with much better careers than did Dennis Christopher. I don’t know that he ever got another singing part.
My second favorite serenading movie scene is from the film with the line about kickboxing, sport of the future.

If anyone ever asks me for a refund for my legal devices, I go full Paul dooley
As mentioned above, it befuddles me why mark Christopher and Jackie earl Haley didn’t become big stars. Mark hammil at least had the excuse of “Skywalker typecast/fame burnout” but I thought all the young leads in this movie were amazing
Fun fact, the guy who plays elas (im your white knight bubie) in die hard is one of the frat guy assholes they get in a fight with at the pizza restaurant

If anyone disagrees with anything I say, I am quite prepared not only to retract it, but also to deny under oath that I ever said it

Dennis Christopher played American sprinter Charlie Paddock in Chariots of Fire.
Brad Davis played Jackson Scholz, another American sprinter in the '24 Olympics. Scholz became a sports author. One of his books is "Spark Plug at Short", the story of Jimmy Teal's rookie season. (It's a work of fiction.)

Our last 2 from there were pretty good.

Re: Newest Kool Aid recruiting thread
Apparently I stumped a wizard. Someone…sent me a PM asking who the other guy from Conestoga HS was. That guy was Kirsten Johnsen ‘12 who started 78 games and finished with over 600 points and 500 rebounds.
Chantilly would have known.

Contact period for 2023 players begins at midnight, so, hopefully some good activity in this thread this week. Assuming the two rumored players become scholarship players, we have up to 6 spots available for 2023.

Fall 2023
Seniors: Lanier, Huffman, Mennenga (?)
Juniors: Watson, Ford, Katsock (WO?),
Leaves 6 if Mennenga hasn't graduated, Katsock is still a WO and no one takes an extra year.
Re: Newest Kool Aid recruiting thread
Lee, Jones and Kristensen will all have another year of eligibility in the Fall of 2023, will they not? Each has played 2 years, and each gets an extra because of Covid, no?RichmondCat wrote: ↑Mon Jun 14, 2021 10:23 amNope.wildforthecats wrote: ↑Mon Jun 14, 2021 10:16 am"we have up to 6 spots available for 2023"

Matt: "Coach, that's BDF."
Bob: "What?! There's two of them!?"
