Local kid. Mooresville. Team Curry. I don't know if we've looked at him. https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=6J-4NbgYaOE

Jonathan attends Lake Norman Christian. They have a transfer from California, Mikey Williams, who is a 5 star recruit, He's in the Class of '22 or '23.

One of the players mentioned on the board under the Lucas Taylor comments is Daylen Berry. He has committed to UNCC.

"Now, with his decision to commit in the near future, Clemson, Cincinnati, Davidson and Marquette appear to be the leaders for Taylor, who is considered an excellent player on the court while also being a very good student off of it."

Cool! We have the highest regarded academics in that group. We are the closest to home if he and his family think that’s important.

Unless he wants to study engineering or architecture. DU is the only one of the 4 that doesn't offer an engineering degree, and both Clemson and Cincinnati have highly-regarded architecture programs.

That’s great news on LT. Is it definitively confirmed to those 4, including Davidson?

I wonder if this is why it's been so quiet on the recruiting front. It is hard to envision how this would work for us without graduate programs, but could be enticing for guys the CC and Bates if they wanted to and were capable of coming back (would obviously love KG to come back but imagine he would seek professional opps here or abroad at the end of the year regardless)

Very curious how this cycle plays out. Since 2015 we've always had 1-2 dynamic scorers, and at least one dynamic scoring guard, and after KG graduates pending the rest of this recruiting cycle, it seems like we will have a roster of guys who fit Davidson basketball to a tee (unselfish, high IQ, shooters) but not necessarily with the takeover ability of Peyton/Jack/JAG/KG. Mennenga seems like the player with the most star potential, and Huffman/Emory have time to exceed already high expectations (if Huffman becomes a consistent shooter, he could slide into that role). Lee is also a player I think we all think can take the next step, but even if he is a dead-eye shooter who contributes in all facets, it's still a different type of offensive threat that KG and JAG bring.

Also, we will have a veteran roster next season, and we haven't had a transfer for quite some time. With transfer rules changing, we may benefit sooner rather than later.

Will be fascinating to see the names that we see the rest of this recruiting cycle and the types of players we pursue. Apologies for the offseason ranting and raving, I'm just happy to think about basketball and get riled up about the program I love. Hope everyone is safe and healthy, go Cats, and TCC.

I think Bates should give baseball a try. With his genes he should have a good fastball and should be able to learn a slider or cutter. If his arm approaches his brother's he could make a living at it. Tim Stoddard did it. Bates could too.

Gibson and Dave DeBuschere and Jim Bibby were all basketball players who pitched in the majors.

Ron Reed and Gene Conley were 2 other Braves who pitched and played in the NBA. Conley was on several Celtics' championship teams and won a World Series with the '57 Braves.

While id love to be proven wrong and see him commit to Davidson, I think that ship has sailed at this point.

Seems that way, but, if he's still on the list, he's still on the list.
