Giving the timing of this announcement following the 247 projections of him going to Villanova Im not to optimistic, but still hoping for the best. Either way it is nice for the team to know his decision and be able to move ahead.

Nova just signed a 4 star guard from Philly.

Im assuming Brizzi still winds up going to Villanova, but you wonder if that makes him pause any given the additional competition for playing time at guard. It has to be one of or our major selling points that if he were to commit to davidson he would have a very good chance of getting substantial minutes even as a true freshman.

Davidson is hurt by COVID-19 because there have been several players we have signed who were ambivalent until visiting Davidson while school was in session and being awed by the students and the campus.

Visitors to the campus think we must have 5-6,000 students. Our ratio of buildings to students is very large. We have no graduate programs whose students live off campus. There are no busy streets or parking lots to cross. Everything is focused on the classrooms, dorms, Alvarez Union, Vail Commons, Smith Field, and Belk.

If we can get recruits on campus, our odds are much better. A ballyhooed recruit's dad told us he was in shock when his son chose Davidson over Stanford. By his son's junior year, he understood why he chose Davidson. The dad also described a trip to a game in Boone when he stopped in Wilkesboro to eat or get gas. My wife and I told him who waited on him.

Brizzi is being recruited to play PG. Longino is playing SG. Rahsool Diggins is also being recruited by Villanova to play PG and he is committing on Sunday. Speculation is that he is going to choose UConn. Not hard to imagine how these commitments all happened so close to each other.

Hopefully Iffy Ufochukwu stays under the radar. I could see him picking up some high major offers, especially as he gets more experience playing basketball.

FYI... all three Team Currys are in Spartanburg this weekend for the Super 6 Showcase. 15U's are playing up in the 16U division. 16U's are playing up in the 17U division.
