Jeff Himes was truly amazing. Back when I was 6'2 I stood next to him (my brother was on his hall) and he might have been 6'3. He usually dominated in the paint and often made much bigger guys look helpless.

Still think the Rucker/Himes/Tanner/Heineman teams were some of our best.

Funny story. I bought Jeff’s black road jersey at a Davidson garage sale at the opening of Belk Arena on 11/11/89. Fast forward to 2009. Not sure why, but had the jersey in my car the day Steph was to break the Davidson all time scoring record. Steph was a bucket short of the record as the half ended. At halftime, I spotted Himes and said, “I’ve got your old jersey in my car, I’ll go get it and bring it to your seat.” I raced to my car and back, barely in time to see Steph hit a shot and reacquaint Himes with his old jersey.

I know they’re called highlights for a reason, but it looks like he can get to the rim whenever he wants. You can do a lot worse than a right handed Jordan Barham.
Which?

I am curious about WFTC's post. In watching their film, I see Lanier more as a PG and Huffman more as a SG.
I thought the same thing.

I think we'll see Carter with the majority of minutes at the point.
Depending on how things shake out, i could also see Kellan being our primary point guard with Carter being a sort of super sub/our sixth starter coming in early and often from the bench.
Maybe but I don't think so. I think Kellan will play some pg but I don't see him as the primary. I would be very surprised if Carter didn't start every game next year. You could see his feel for running the team growing as the season progressed.
Hard to say, the lineup listed below is also a possibility:

Grady
Frampton
Lee
Nelson/Sam
Luka

Many options. Let’s hope we are playing hoop sometime in 2020.
Carter has serious problems dribbling right handed.

It's only because all his defenders think he's right-handed and so they overplay to that side. :)

I really, really would like to see Frampton and Lee on the court at the same time.

Bombs away!
"We were in the center ring the whole night,'' longtime Davidson coach Bob McKillop said. ''We were not on the ropes. We were not on the mat. We were in the center ring slugging away, and we just ran out of time.''

Interesting read on recruiting during a pandemic: https://247sports.com/Article/college-f ... 145668388/

It's hard to imagine this being important right now, especially when we don't know if we will have a season at all, but it's nice to get your mind off the chaos. I think the local recruiting this is fascinating, especially looking at guys like Chris Ford (offer) and Lucas Taylor (interest). It could play in our favor that we've identified talented local guys before they blow up. The fact that everyone else is recruiting locally and we have deep international ties could also play in our favor. Regardless, I'm fascinated to see this play out and desperate of any sports news of any kind.

Stay safe.

If Villanova is on him this early he could be out of reach, but looks like he's a name on our board.

Georgetown too. He had long planned a visit to Davidson this summer, but, who knows now.

This came to my atention from a friend of mine with connections in the Albany, NY area. He is evidently interested in Davidson (also Colgate and "another school", but like all other potential recruits is not allowed to visit any campuses as long as the Covid 19 restrictions are in place:

Shane O'Dell - Schalmont High School in Schenectady;

Stats: 6'6", averaging 26 points and ten rebounds per game
