Newest Kool Aid recruiting thread
At the end of the evening, there was an auction. The last two items were different VIP game-day packages. Bob came forward to auction those off. Those of you who have seen him in action as auctioneer (or have seen a pair of red shoes in my family room) know how effective he is. On the next-to-last time he suggested that the buyer could likely meet Steph Curry, since he would be at that game.
On the final item, someone reminded him that it included a basketball autographed by the team. He started talking about what that ball would be worth in ten years. He said to think about what a game ball autographed by the 2008 team would be worth today. He suggested that people would look back on this team as special. Most of the team had been there, including all four freshmen. Hearing the coach talk about them in those terms has to be encouraging. It probably didn't sound too shabby to Justice. But I'm not sure that they all stayed that late. Even so, it sounded pretty good to the fans, too.

Not to hijack the thread, but there was a raffle during that event (or maybe the previous year) where I won a Steph card. There are only 199 of these. This is a card similar to the one I won:wildforthecats wrote:Steph served me a beer at The Brickhouse after one of the Lovedale 5K races in 2011. Folks have a hard time believing this one now.

Sure, this is only the listing price, not an actual sold price. But everything is for sale, right? Or is it heresy to sell anything Steph we've collected? (Note that the card came signed- I didn't get it signed in person. To me, there's a difference.)

Anybody want to buy one of the old folding seats that the team uses on the bench? Signed "Steph Curry 30."

Actually, several folks are interested in that Steph chair...
And a lot of folks are going to be interested in this 4-star, 6'9, 240 lb kid from High Point, NC who played his AAU ball for a Charlotte-based team that is affiliated with Under Armour. http://scout.com/college/basketball/rec ... -107783855
He wants to stay closer to home. I don't know if we are interested, but I hear that Clemson is.
