Disappointing, but wish him well.

I wish him well, too. And I hope that UNC loses every game while he's enrolled there. That isn't much of a distinction, though, since I hope that they lose every game from now until the end of time.

Platek seems like a guy that is really easy to root for. I have to say that if both he and Luke Maye earn time on the floor for UNC, it will change my perception of that program for those fleeting moments.
In terms of reality check, I think that every highly competitive athlete wants to test themselves at the highest possible level. We interpreted his earlier comments about the importance of academics as a "good sign", but they were trumped by his "blowing up" and becoming a hot item for the biggest programs in the country. Once you see yourself as playing at that level, academics will always take a back seat. Maybe it should ... and I really hope it works out well for him. Still, he really would have looked better in red and black

Just perusing Scout seeing if there's anything new, I found some comments on a West Virginia forum about Frampton I thought I'd share. Apparently they are scouting him hard but want him to take a prep year, and the locals really want him.
I have the philosophy that any shooting guard that Coach McKillop at Davidson offers........... we should offer. One of the best shooting teams in CBB over the last decade (36+%), especially considering how heavily they rely on the 3pt shot.
Link: http://www.scout.com/college/west-virgi ... /184742339I know most fans don't keep track of this stat...but Frampton is literally one of the best defenders that I've ever seen at taking charges. The kid will sacrifice his body willingly. I don't know if that's necessarily "aggressiveness" but I think it shows toughness.

Planning to cut his list to ten after the AAU season. As mentioned earlier in the thread, St. Joseph's recently offered him a scholarship.

ESPN still hasn't figured out that Kellan "Gandy" doesn't exist. He's listed as a 4 star PG from Northfield- Mount Herman (grade 80). Kellen Grady is listed as a 3 star PG from Northfield- Mount Herman (grade 79). Gandy is listed as ESPN's 25th best PG and their 3rd best player in Massachusetts. Grady is listed as their 44th best PG and the 6th best player in Massachusetts. ESPN has no recruiting info for Gandy.
Their 3 star rating results in Verbal Commits listing him as a "composite" 3.7 stars.
For comparison's sake Platek is a composite 4 star who ESPN lists as the 4th best player in Massachusetts.
