Outing Club. Not that there's anything wrong with that.
This is embarrassing for Penn State, far better to keep students indoors for safer activities like hazing and showering with ex football caches.

I am a Penn State alum, so I feel I can take shots at one of my alma maters.

Mostly funny. One massively stupid line in the "2010 and 2011: Butler" section.

Yep. Also, this quote had a certain resonance...

"Ah! I love college basketball, where a missed shot is legitimately one of the most famous plays of the last 20 years."

Last July, my son and I were walking through LaGuardia when I spotted a famous person. I pointed out Danny Ainge to my son and he remarked, "Do you mean the old guy who's with Isaiah Thomas?"

As we were talking, an Asian couple came up and had Ainge take a picture of them with Thomas. Danny did not look happy.

Easy trivia- what do Ainge and Dave DeBuschere have in common besides the NBA?

Easy for me since DeBuschere was a U of D Titan and my father's all-time favorite athlete.

Both played professional baseball and basketball.

DeBuschere was a starting pitchers for the White Sox in addition to his NBA hall of fame career.

Ainge played sparingly for the Blue jays.

Ron Reed of the Braves and Pistons was another MLB/NBA player in the '60s.

Gene Conley played for the Braves, Red Sox, and Celtics in the '50s and '60s.

Don’t forget Chuck Connors: Dodger, Celtic, and Rifleman.

Also Cub and Seton Hall Pirate.

His Wikipedia page says 12 people have played MLB and in the NBA. It also says “citation needed” at that point.

Dick Groat was a NL MVP, a 2x World Series champion, and played in the NBA.

One of his suite mates at Duke was President Nixon's brother. (Nixon was a Congressman at the time Groat and the brother started at Duke.)

Cotton Nash played for the Lakers and later in the ABA. He played a little in the Majors. He had the misfortune of being with the Twins when they had Killebrew and Mincher.

The article mistakenly lists Duke's Ace Parker as "Ace Packer". He is one of the 7 members of the Pro Football HOF who also played in the majors. He played football for the Dodgers and the Yanks and played baseball for the Yankees.

Steve Hamilton was a relief pitcher for the Yankees and a backup forward for the Lakers. He attended Morehead State and was their AD after his baseball career ended.

He did a very good Gomer Pyle impersonation. He was a guest on the Dick Cavett Show, but his appearance ended badly when he referred to the host as "Mr. Carson".

The article lists Brian Jordan, the Falcons' DB and an OF for several MLB teams. The most similar player statistically to Jordan was Jackie Jensen, an OF for the Yankees, Senators, and Red Sox who was also a football star for California and played in the Rose Bowl.

Did Chip Hilton make it to the pros?

I'm 55. The only reason I know who Chip Hilton was is because approximately 20 titles in Claire Bee's series were in my grandparent's house- left over from my now 77 year old uncle's childhood.

I read most if not all of those books. I regret I didn't appropriate them for myself. I think my uncle reclaimed them when my grandparents downsized. I enjoyed them greatly as a 10 year old.

Clair Bee's grandson attended Davidson and was a karate and/or judo champion.
