Newest Kool Aid recruiting thread
Re: Newest Kool Aid recruiting thread
So KP is coming back?
Re: Newest Kool Aid recruiting thread
I (we?) have been surprised both ways in the past. I would not bank on a player returning for a 5th year (excluding transfers) until the next school year started, even if someone reported that the student was planning on playing out their eligibility during the "junior" season.
Re: Newest Kool Aid recruiting thread
I’d still be enrolled at Davidson if they would let me and someone else was footing the bill.
So I always assume Redshirt juniors will return.

I believe we require 5th year seniors to have a double major, not positive though. That could play into any decision
Re: Newest Kool Aid recruiting thread
KP and Dusan have had lots of time to plan for a 5th year.
Re: Newest Kool Aid recruiting thread
I thought I read in this thread some time ago that a fifth year senior could just declare a minor.CatsUpNorth wrote: ↑Fri Mar 01, 2019 2:11 pmI believe we require 5th year seniors to have a double major, not positive though. That could play into any decision

Those decisions have been made.

Why do you do this to us?
she/hers
Re: Newest Kool Aid recruiting thread
In the roster/factoid sheet handed out at the Fastbreak Club Saturday, Dusan was listed as a Senior. Earlier this season, he was a Redshirt Junior.
Kishawn was listed as a Redshirt Junior.

Re: Newest Kool Aid recruiting thread
If Dusan is indeed graduating this year, I am happy for him, excited to see what he does next, and enormously grateful for what he has given our program. As others have noted, this is a highly personal decision, and none of us has any right to comment on it beyond that. We are just fans who are blessed to be able to watch these young men compete day after day, for as long as is right for them.
It seems like every year we struggle with front court depth. We will be extremely thin (literally and figuratively) next year if this is true, and if we don't have any reinforcements coming in beyond what has been publicly reported. That should probably temper some of the lofty expectations we have for next year in an apparently resurgent A-10.

Re: Newest Kool Aid recruiting thread
Dusan introduced himself to the audience as a senior at the red black press conference. I am 100% positive of this.
Re: Newest Kool Aid recruiting thread
I am a big fan of Dusan personally and he will be missed, but whether or not he returns will not be a decisive factor in how next season plays out. Bates, David Kristensen, and Nelson will adequately replace what we lose if Dusan leaves.BaseRich306 wrote: ↑Sun Mar 03, 2019 10:20 pmIt seems like every year we struggle with front court depth. Just for note: Dusan’s stat line: 7.9 mpg, 39% field goal %, 1.9 rb/g, and 2 pts/g.

Sadly, our two seniors will be remembered for what might have been, made all the more real by what they were able to accomplish in their relatively few moments of play.

This is a huge +1. I watched the epic 3-6 A10 Quarters matchup between us and the bonnies and the way Ekwu jumps, finishes, and defends is impressive. If Ekwu stays healthy he could’ve very well been an A10 defensive player of the year. Dusan too had an incredible upside as a really good offensive big. It’s a shame but injuries happen.
