Reid, Durkin and Kochera are all improved. The team’s intensity and physicality has also been ramped up versus last year. These are positive developments. In addition, Blums and Laput show real potential. I believe this team is very determined to succeed.

I don’t believe last year’s team would have lost those games. Against its very weak out-of-conference opponents, it was 10–3. The only bad team they didn’t beat was ETSU (at ETSU). But they definitely kept things close against other bad teams. The losses started piling up once the A10 season began and Skogman got hurt—though the team finished pretty much in line with the coaches’/media’s preseason expectations.

Glad for the wins, but I don’t see how close wins over an out-of-conference schedule we almost all acknowledged was quite weak and designed to let the team win while developing suggests that the team is going to be any better than its preseason predictions.

VMI board says we bought the game for just $80,000.

I hope Kelly Lombard is on a VMI message board right now, complaining that the Keydets lack quick point guards.
I recognized Kelley while we were both waiting in line in splash Mountain Disney World, March 2000. We spoke for a moment.

In 2012 when David and I were in a long line at Epcot, as the line wrapped around, we passed Fran Fraschilla. I kept our place in line while David went and talked with him a while. I think he then announced one of our games.

Over the years, more than one Wildcat game. He reliably praised Bob.

After meeting him I would always take note when he announced our games.

I just wish we could recruit quick feet.

There has to be something in the water on our campus because we simply never have quick players.

So is Manie, judging from what little I have seen him on the court.
