“It wasn’t hard to not focus on the individual because, as I’ve said multiple times, winning championships feels way better than becoming the school’s all-time leading scorer or reaching 2,000 points,” Coval said. “When you like your teammates, team accomplishments just feel better. When we won a district championship I just felt so much more complete than when I scored 2,000 points. Not that I didn’t feel good about scoring 2,000, but there’s nothing like team accomplishments, celebrating in the locker room, on the bus on the way home. Nothing like it. All that stuff was great.”
Even though he entered high school basketball at a high level, he kept working hard on making himself better.
“I definitely feel I am more of a true point guard,” he said. “I learned how to use ball screens and play with pace and not just one speed. There was also the physical development which was only natural. I got bigger, stronger and more athletic. It was all about just becoming more of a complete player. I didn’t want to just be a scorer or a shooter. I learned how to break down guys off the dribble and be able to set my teammates up and put them in position to score. That’s where the improvements were over my high school career.”

Seems like the type of guy you want on your team. Hope he gets some run this upcoming season.

Good for him. Really wish we could’ve corralled him though. I suspect we won’t enjoy his Belk appearances.

That team is going to be good. Got rid of a clown coach in favor of a good one. Excellent additions through the portal.

A nice player but he's going to have trouble defending big guards

Seems like we are fishing in very competitive waters. Sure hope we can still fill our needs. Has to happen pretty soon though.

We did get him on campus. Nico Moretti apparently too (he posted a photo at Davidson on his Instagram). Either would have been a great addition. Once Gonzaga got involved with Smith, the combination of a top 10 team plus close to home was, obviously, a pretty compelling draw.

Perhaps Davidson should emphasize recruiting players from NC and Upstate SC. We lose most to ACC schools, but there are some who are not ACC worthy or only get recruited by the lower level ACC schools.
Colt Langdon '25 of Millbrook in Raleigh has not committed yet.

Well I'm not worried about Drexel or USD, whether that's San Diego or South Dakota.

I've seen him play a few times. kid's a beast.
