Agree. Plus, the guy mentioned has improved his 3, but still not exceptional. Grant gives you defense and rebounding--that never goes out of style.

Braeden Smith to Gonzaga.
He's going to redshirt next year.
This was my one hope for us being an upper tier A10 team next year. Maybe I'll be wrong; hope so.

Re: Portal
Very quiet on the recruiting front for Davidson. Are we done for this cycle?

Re: Portal
Where did Schulte end up? I, for one, liked his potential and think the team could use a bruiser in the post. McAuliffe struggled with the speed of the college game in his first two years but was a valuable contributor off the bench in his last two seasons.

Closest thing I’ve seen was this on Eurobasket: “Transfer: Bernau () 2024”

Can't be done. We have unmet needs.

He looks to be training back home in Germany per his Instagram.
Re: Portal
I have always wondered (and admired) those kids from foreign countries, who leave their families, their culture, their native language to come here to pursue their sports dreams. It has to be disorienting, even though I am confident that our DC people make it as easy as possible.
I was an older student coming to Davidson; I had been away from home seven years when I arrived there; and I did not have to negotiate a language barrier (though that central North Carolina accent took some getting used to). Still, for my first week or two at DC, I seriously contemplated turning around and going back to where I came from.
All of that to say, it is surprising that we are able to continue with so many of our international students, and it is a tribute to the faculty, staff, and students that they are so generous in their support of these individuals.

Well please don't wonder! The effort is (or was) part of an overall strategic support of these international students. The host family program works! So please add host families from the broader Davidson community to your answer-tribute.
