Grady is a four star player. One service has him ranked as the #42 prospect in the class of 2017. He may not get the recognition he's due now that he has committed to Davidson (and not a P5), but had his recruitment remained open, he would have easily become a consensus top 100 player. He still may. We were very lucky to get his commitment early because he was primed to absolutely blow up. An amazing get.Classof70 wrote:I think we don't really hit the "big leagues" until we actually enroll a 4 star player.

Harvard
Hi, first time poster, big fan of the board. Did anyone realize that Harvard has 4 top 100 recruits on espns top 100 recruits for 2016, mind blowing! If Harvard can do it why not Davidson?
Re: Harvard
Harvard had an RPI of somewhere near 190 last season. Davidson's was around 65. Why would we want to be like Harvard?Catfan4ever33 wrote:Hi, first time poster, big fan of the board. Re: Harvard
Harvard goes after high academic and talented players just like us and landed a bunch this year, we have landed a few and will land similarly ranked players in the future. Nothing wrong with hoping for similar success going after similar players, and we have the edge of having a culture with a great coach with a history of developing talent even if we don't end up with players with high rankings next to their name.dorp wrote:Harvard had an RPI of somewhere near 190 last season. Re: Harvard
That may or may not be true. I have read, on their board, probably about a year ago, many fans ruing the lowering of academic standards to admit players. Whether they knew that, or were speculating, I don't know.CatsUpNorth wrote:Harvard goes after high academic and talented players just like us and landed a bunch this year, we have landed a few and will land similarly ranked players in the future. Re: Harvard
This is technically correct but slightly misleading. One is ranked in the sixties and the other three are literally ranked 97th, 98th and 99th.Catfan4ever33 wrote:Hi, first time poster, big fan of the board. Since Harvard and the other Ivies do not give athletic scholarships, is there any limit to the number of players they could bring in?citycat wrote:We can't because we don't have 4 scholarships to offer. We weren't crummy last year, so we cannot promise freshmen they'll start because our incumbents do not need to be replaced.

They are much more willing to cheat than we are. They seem to be okay with it. Good for them.Catfan4ever33 wrote:Hi, first time poster, big fan of the board.
