Game 6 Klay is great. Game 2 Klay is nearly as good, averaging over 19 points in a larger sample size (due to the team's dominance in playoff series).

If the Splash Brothers continue their good play the Warriors should beat the Lakers and have a good chance to win the West. Klay will be jacked up playing in front of his family and friends in LA.

When Poole initiates the offense the Warriors become mediocre. The offense is excellent when Steph initiates.

JaMychal Green was very good. 15 pts in 13 minutes. He'll should get more minutes and might start again Saturday if Looney is still not feeling well.

An ill Looney managed 6 pts and 8 rebs in 12 minutes. Iron man!

Moody was good again. He got 7 rebs (third on the team) and 10 pts in 26 minutes and played good D. We'll see more of him ... I hope. He is going to be an NBA star. He'll be 21 soon.

Kind of a boring game, really...but in a good way! Steph got some good rest.

Forbes magazine reported that Stephen Curry is the 8th highest earning athlete in the world, taking in $100.4 million per year in salary and bonuses, plus off-court earnings for endorsements, licensing deals, and returns on business investments. The athletes ahead of him are 3 soccer players, 2 golfers in the LIV circuit, a Mexican boxer, and LeBron. The full list is here:

Pretty good for an undersized Charlotte kid who received "permission" to try for a walk-on spot with VPI.

He got special consideration because of his dad.

An odd factoid I came across yesterday is that the guy who played Jimmy Chitwood in Hoosiers had tried out three times for his high school basketball team, but never made it.

Incredible effort by Steph tonight. Wasted, mostly due to Green's uncharacteristically dumb plays.

Can Steph and Co. return the 3-1 down favor to LeBron?

The Warriors lost because the Splash Brothers shot 26% from 3. Their makes from 3 usually make up for turnovers and off nights from their teammates.

Kerr is finally realizing (maybe too late) he has a better chance to win with Moody on the court. Moody played 19 minutes of excellent defense and was 3 for 3 FGs last night. Poole played 10 minutes and was 0 for 4 FGs and was credited with 2 TOs in the boxscore although I remember at least 3. I assume the official scorer gave him a shot attempt on one of the plays when the ball flew aimlessly from his hands in the general direction of the basket. And, of course, Poole played no defense. At least Kerr gave the Warriors a chance when he kept Poole on the bench for the entire 4th quarter. Had he given Moody the 10 minutes Poole played the Warriors would have won the game easily IMO. Moody's shooting stats for the playoffs 54/53/92%. Poole's 34/28/76%. Plus excellent defensive effort vs. token defense.

Poole's "defense" vs Lakers

https://twitter.com/i/status/1656385614487379979

He's poison on the Warriors team. His teammates see this effort every game. They wonder how he ever got a $128 million contract when most of them make a small fraction of that. Keep him on the end of the bench. Play Moody, DiVincenzo, and Payton instead. They all hustle and give defensive effort.

Get rid of him this summer. Can't get anything in return? Give him to any team willing to take his contract.

He should use Kuminga more, too.

But yes, staple Poole to the bench.

Would also help if Klay didn't fall in love with off balance double-teamed threes with 17 seconds on the shot clock.

Steph will have a big Game 6. Points plus assists total at ~ 40+.

Need 18-20 pts each from Klay and Wiggins and 20+ rebs with at least 15 pts from Looney and Draymond.

Dubs have a bench player who's the 4th best defender on the team and now shooting 55/58/92% for the playoffs! Can Kerr find him at least 20 minutes?

Last night Poole was 5/14 FGs, 1/6 on 3s, and 11 pts. Payton, Moody, and DiVincenzo were a combined 6/9 FGs, 3/4 on 3s, and 19 pts. Could those stats please influence the game plan for Game 6?

Poole's having a rough playoffs and his game seems to have taken a huge downturn since earlier in the season. I can't quite put my finger on it. For sure, his defense is a big part, but it seems that he just doesn't have a good feel for the game. He doesn't control the game or the pace. At times he sees the floor well and can find teammates, but he's not consistent. He's a marvelous athlete, but he seems to rely on athleticism alone a lot and not smarts and guile. There are times when it seems he just decides he's gonna shoot it, come hell or high water, and everything but the rim disappears to him. His shot clock management can be atrocious.

I believe the Warriors will try to move him once their season ends. It's clear he is not the long-term answer to their needs.

Poole had 4 assists and 0 turnovers. He was acceptable from 2 (4-8). So he was 1 made 3 away from a pretty good stat line. Last night he was not a $h!t show.
