Does he have more upside than Kuminga? YW has had a cup of coffee, sure, but I think JK is far more dynamic. I think he may have “attitude” (entitled? team player?) issues, but at 20 years old, I think they’re still correctable.

Kuminga has better upside than Watanabe. Watanabe has better upside, and better right now, than Peyton. Otherwise, Peyton would be getting offers/attention.

Peyton was a drastically better college player than Watanabe.

Remember Kuminga is only 20. He's still learning the game and Steph says he's a very hard worker, takes coaching well, and he's learning fast. His floor is ~10+ year NBA career as a starter barring major injury. His ceiling on the upside is superstardom. I predict at least a few selections as an all star. He averaged 9.6 ppg his first 2 seasons as a 19-20 year old shooting 52% and 35% on 3s. For reference Dick Snyder averaged 12.2 ppg for his career shooting 48.8% and only 7.4 ppg his first 2 seasons in the NBA as a 22-23 year old shooting less than 43%. Fred Hetzel averaged 11.2 ppg for his career shooting 42% and 9.5 ppg his first 2 seasons as a 23-24 year old shooting only 40%. Hetzel and Snyder were good NBA players and both had seasons averaging up to 19 ppg in their prime years. Hetzel played 8 years and Snyder played 13 years.

His dad was on the floor with 2 other NBA players when Davidson beat South Carolina on 1/16/74. The Gamecocks were ranked 11th.

Dunleavy's dad was a Phi Beta Kappa graduate who worked on Wall Street after his first retirement from the NBA. His team was waiting on a runway to board a charter flight. A passing plane's backwash knocked some of the players over. Dunleavy injured his back. He was given a settlement and retired.

He returned to the NBA after a couple of years and discovered his back was better. He unretired and played some more before becoming a head coach and GM.

When Michael, Jr. left Duke after 3 years to go to the NBA, it signaled college hoops fans no player was staying in college if the lottery beckoned.

The USC victory was Davidson's last victory over a ranked team until we beat Gonzaga in 2008.

Hope Jr turns out to be more popular with Warriors fans this time than he was as a player.

Kobe saw greatness early in Steph's career:

Good idea from the new GM. He seems pretty smart for a Dookie:

ESPN is reporting a Chris Paul for Jordan Poole trade is imminent.

I’m heavily conflicted. 😳

Follow the money. Paul has one year left at $30 mil. Poole has 3 years left on a 4 year $140 mil contract. After this year GS should have more room to maneuver.

You can be sure that Steph approved this deal. I'm not a Chris Paul fan, but the Warriors will have the best backcourt bench combo in the NBA with Paul and Moody. Moody will benefit from Paul's playmaking ability and should emerge as a very good rotation player next season.

Yuck. Capt Nutpunch has never won at any level. If he has a big role (more than 15 minutes/game), he'll drag a team down. Again. Give him a tiny contract and a tiny role, and perhaps he can be part of a title winner.

I've been thinking for awhile that this might happen, but didn't say so on the board because I thought it would bring a chorus of boos. I actually think it's a positive move--although he's not as dynamic as Poole, Paul knows how to play pg and the second unit needs that. I've also read some stuff that indicated that Steph and Paul are pretty good friends.

I think it was clear that either Poole or Draymond had to go. Their bad blood poisoned the vibe last year.

I expect they will keep Draymond--although I wish they'd move him.
