IMO rain helps a running team.
On the other hand a slippery field without rain can go both ways. It can make it tough for a receiver to catch the ball but it also makes it tougher for a D back to cover the receivers cuts.
I have seen Bermuda fields or golf courses drain rapidly.

Free is nice, but why not charge less than we would normally?
$14 for a seat with a back and a drink cup and $6 for a bleacher seat.
