9 runs so far in the 2d. Siena is awful. Our runs came on 4 singles, 1 double, 2 errors, 1 BB, and 1 HBP. Still batting with runners on 2nd and 3rd.
Addendum: those 2 runners scored on the Saints' 3rd error of the inning. Now 11-1.

Re: Up next: Siena
Win. Cats get the lead in the bottom of the 5th on a very nice squeeze bunt by Hunter Anderson, then Dunagan gets a 1-2-3 7th. Final 5-4.

And Champey leaves after allowing 3 runs on 2 hits, 3 walks, and 2 HBP. One of the hits was a game-tying home run. Dunagan gets the final out in the 6th on 2 pitches. 4-4 after 6.

Re: Up next: Siena
Geez. Cats up 4-3 after 5, but we've left 12 on base! We left 10 in the first game. Cooper Cavanaugh pitched very well for 4 innings in game 2, leaving with a 4-1 lead. Champey came in to pitch the 5th - out > walk > single > HBP > 2 runs on a bungled DP ball. Ground ball to shortstop, who threw to ...

Wilson Field should be OK. The entire field was remade in 2021 with artificial turf everywhere except the outfield, plus they improved the drainage system throughout. They don't even use tarps anymore.

Re: Other scores
SEC loses another team. Kentucky sent packing. Florida and Auburn are out. Tennessee, Auburn, and Texas A&M are the only SEC teams remaining after the first round. Two of their 5 losses were to non-P6 auto-qualifiers. Poor Greg Sankey. Of course, even in losing the SEC gets paid $10 million for tho...

Izzo wants to look at eliminating mid and small major automatic qualifiers too: https://www.si.com/college/2024/03/20/tom-izzo-wants-ncaa-look-into-eliminating-automatic-bids-mid-major-programs How about disqualifying any school with more than 12 losses for an at large bid? Michigan State was 19-14...

Love this quote from an article about Sankey's nonsense. I get that Sankey’s job is to deliver for his schools, but if he gets his way with basketball all of us might lose moments like this where the nation can come together and all laugh at Georgetown. https://www.nunesmagician.com/2024/3/15/241017...

Re: Portal
I suspect Davidson is now leading the A10 in number of players in the portal, and it ain't over yet. Very disappointing, and not a good look for TCC, particularly the loss of Brizzi and Moss after only one year.

Re: Another grim thought. . .
Greg Sankey needs to be dressed in Bjork's meat dress, flown out to sea, and dropped from a helicopter. I think he just did. Buh-bye South Carolina, Mississippi State, and Kentucky, three entitled SEC teams bounced by lower seeds. Hello Oakland and Duquesne, two of those automatic qualifiers out to...

We'll probably see an experiment with shuttles. It'll fail. We'll hear suggestions that freshmen can't have cars. It won't happen. We'll hear suggestions that a parking deck is the answer. It won't happen. The solution will be left to the fans. The school won't provide the answer. When Davidson hos...

Maybe Grant will stick. Send your spare money to the collective and pray. Grant will get a graduate degree somewhere, either a PhD or MD. No way could he juggle the first year of medical school with playing college basketball, but he could get a start on an MS or PhD program, and many med schools l...

Re: Up next: Siena
Best win of the season. Still striking out way too much and walking way too many batters, but we made plays! Putnam's scoop to Jouras on the sac bunt attempt was pretty slick. Plus, we picked off a couple of runners, too. Cotrone was one of our best hitters last season. He is in a terrible slump th...
