We host Wake Forest on 8/11 @ 7:00 PM. They're supposed to be very good, as usual.

Wake released both of their soccer schedules. Our women don't play their women this year.
We played them to a 2-2 draw in last year's exhibition.

George Lawrence Abernethy Library

Davidson has announced an $85 million library "transformation," made possible by gifts of $60 million from the Duke Endowment and $25 million from Dr. Abernethy's son Bob. The Duke gift is the largest in college history. https://www.davidson.edu/news/2024/04/18/transformative-60-million-gift-largest...

If Zach becomes US President someday we will brag for decades about his attendance at Davidson ... even though he enrolled for only one year.

Re: Steph update

That was an embarrassing exit. Dubs were dominated in every statistical category: FG%, 3-pt%, FT%, total rebounds, offensive rebounds, assists, turnovers, and steals.

Box score says our pitchers plunked 7 Eagle. In his 1 inning of work, Champey got 4 of them.

I don’t know much about it (which has not been much impediment in this thread anyway), but I heard that Davidson now has some kind of certificate program that could be earned in students’ postgraduate years.
Are they awarded a Participation Trophy rather than a diploma?

This must have been the young man at the Soda Shop. An Orange-ade and a grilled cheese will close any deal.
An egg salad would've gotten us two years.

Re: Baseball edition

A.J. Pabst has been in Charlotte's bullpen. He was our best short reliever last year, but he has not been effective for the Niners, except of course in the 24-1 debacle against his former teammates, when he got the final out.

He’s been playing 1B for them. On Saturday they moved him to SS because of an injury. He had an error on a tough play in the NC State win
His fielding average was .914 last year as DU's regular SS.

Re: North Carolina Teams - RPI

Davidson might have a top-notch pitching coach. We don't know. We can't keep anyone in that job. It's hard to argue that our guys have improved as the season has gone on. Parker Bangs was at Davidson for 4 years, and our 2022 staff finished eighth nationally with an ERA of 3.86. He is now in his 3r...

https://clemsontigers.com/sports/baseball/cumestats/season/2023/ Is that a pro sport? The Tigers are #1 in Warren Nolan's RPI. Close enough to pro for me. Hinderleider is much better as a Tiger then he was as a Wildcat. Check out his HIGH SCHOOL. I think I prefer Davidson University. https://clemso...

Michael Carico is starting the season on the 7-day injured list for the Myrtle Beach Pelicans (Cubs, Class A) of the Carolina League. The Pelicans have a 6-game series at Kannapolis June 18-23. Ryan Wilson is off to a hot start for the Lake Elsinore Storm (Padres, Class A) of the California League. ...

Re: North Carolina Teams - RPI

I'd poach Cooper Cavanaugh, Shaggy, Putnam, and Howard. Could Weber, Whelan, Perkins, and Ban produce on a better team with an experienced pitching coach? Our future isn't bright, but individual Wildcats could have bright futures elsewhere. Fix and Champey both have good arms and might be worth poa...

Re: Up next: at St Louis

Champey, Dunagan, and Katz pitched pretty well in relief. They held SLU scoreless for the last 4 innings.

We have lost 5 straight.
