Yes, Lee died last night in his sleep.

I am going to start a thread in the next day or so recounting all that Lee has done for Davidson, for the area, and for the country. I hesitiated doing it until now, as Lee did his good work without fanfare and never showed a trace of hubris.

Dear Stem-Cells, The results of the sixth biopsy were discouraging only in the sense that they confirmed what all my family members around me intuitively knew to be the case. The last chemotherapy protocol was the most aggressive that the world of medicine can apply in AML cases and the final score...

Prayers for Lee Sargent

Time to really hit the prayer wagon ya'll. We need to help Lee through this. lesargent@mi-connection.com Dear Stem Cells, It must seem like forever since I wrote to all of you and I apologize for that. We were disappointed with the results of the first protocol. Dr. Hurd suggested a more aggressive ...

Thanks David. An excellent read. I bet it was a tough one to research - Bryan apparently didn't leave much of a trail. I don't know if I ever saw him play. The Cats were in Greenville to play ECU in Holland's 2nd year - I was probably there but I don't remember. An interesting, incredibly talented, ...

Kevin Cary

Thanks to everyone for all of your kind words. You all have been so generous to me throughout the time I covered the team, and in the past season too. Today wasn't easy, but one thing made me smile. I went back and printed out my stories from the Wildcats' NCAA tournament run. Reading them again rem...

A College Our Team Can Be Proud Of - Stan

Anyone who writes stuff like this, posted after NCAA tournament last year, is someone I want to keep posting. The man who wrote this is a True Believer and my brother. A college our basketball team can be proud of Many years ago, the president of Oklahoma University said he wanted a university the f...

Board Rules - Reminder

A couple of hard and fast rules to remember. We never, never discuss injuries on this board. Period. No exceptions. This is at the request of the Davidson College administration and I am happy to comply. The same applies to an athlete's grades or academic standing. No cussin'. There are lots of kids...

Splinter Faction - Some Thoughts About the Shot

Thanks again William! Thanks to John for saving it and reposting. Some thoughts about the shot that didn't go in I've seen some pictures of Stephen Curry since Sunday, and he has been smiling. I haven't seen any pictures of Jason Richards, but I hope he's smiling also. Because the last play of that ...
