Re: Other scores

Hope the hand is healing well, TOK. I also found out late that CBS was not carrying the games, even though several schedules I looked at referenced the over-the-air network broadcast. I didn't mind so much missing the final four this year, but I hate the games they play to try to get consumers to bu...

Re: Newest Kool Aid recruiting thread

We might also be able to land some kids who previously would have been walk-ons at Power 6 conferences. If I was such a recruit, my rationale would be that there is a better than even chance that X Team would be filling my position with transfers from the portal, and I might never see significant op...

Re: Steph update

Trayce Jackson-Davis certainly made Cat Forever look like a coaching savant last night. TJD scored 20 on a variety of rolls to the rim, point-blank dunks, and putbacks. Moody and Pods were very good, also, in support of the outstanding Klay (Mr. 1st Half) and Steph (Mr. 2nd Half) who scored 29 apiec...

Re: Steph update

Could not watch the game last night, but woke up this morning to see strange stat lines for both teams. W's with only one 20 point scorer (and it wasn't Steph) and a lot of contributions from many players; the Mavs with essentially only three scorers (Irving, PJ Washington and Luka). You have to won...

Re: Portal

I was mowing the yard this afternoon, wearing a sleeveless AND1 jersey. Beautiful day. Hope I didn't disturb the neighbors with my gratuitous display of flabby old skin. It was the backyard, though.

Re: Portal

I think that scholarships are only a commitment for one year at a time, renewable at the institution's discretion (though in this brave new world of college athletics, this too may have changed). If this is still the way scholarships are granted, I could see: a) There being no expectation for a scho...

Re: Steph update

I looked it up. The internet lists 17 current players with a parent who also played in the league. Like all internet information, it is not 100% accurate as TJD is not among those listed. Still, 5 legacy players from one team does appear to be a very high percent of the total.

That seems like a large number. Wonder if this is an intentional strategy?

Re: Shooting data for season (by start year)

Some surprises here. Most notably, of course, was that the Curry years were not among the highest % in either overall or 3 point shooting. Curious. Remember that the 3P line was moved back so that accounts for the lower numbers after that happened. Three Point line moved back after 2007-2008 season...
