This Season - A Tale of Shooting (or Lack Thereof)

After watching the team struggle to hit the rim against Loyola, only getting into the upper 30's for FG% after a flurry at the end and creeping along st 26% from 3pt%, igot me wondering whether we're really shooting it worse. SPOILER: We are. And the lack of shooting coupled with soft cuts (or ignor...

We are 4-17 from three.
And I'm not sure I have ever seen a Davidson team shoot this many airball 3's. I mean . . . We're not close on these attempts.

Re: In Game: at Loyola Chicago

Loyola looks better than a lot of the other A-10 teams we've seen. They actually fo a lot of things that we want to do - play unselfishly, share the ball, move their feet on D and make 3's.

They're just playing our game better than us.

Re: Up next: at St Joe's

Apparently the Board was excited about this game as the team was. It was a real struggle to score today. We created some good lucks but couldn't knock them down.

Re: Up next: Duquesne

My one comment: If Gayle was recruiting for the men we would be better and if Matt was coaching for the women we would be a lot better. Not sure I agree with this comment. Matt has had some coaching issues in our last few games, particularly, the end of the GW game. I think the women's problems hav...

Re: In Game: vs. Richmond

Feels a lot like the GW game. Guys play hard, fight to get back in the game, take the lead, and then lose on poor execution down the stretch. I love our guys, and this has to really.hurt for them, but we have to figure out how to finish games.

Gotta get Brizzi off the floor.
Like his defense, just tell him not to shoot.
But he's not the guy you want driving when you have to have a baslet. Durkin/Skogman/Huffman give us our best chance.

Durkin needs to be on the floor during this run.
I am glad to see guys get minutes, but Durkin is probably our best pure shooter. We can only take so many Spadone/Loughnane/Brizzi minutes in games when we can't make a shot.

Great effort from the women. No shame in this loss. Gave Richmond all they wanted.

Re: Up next: at Fordham

Loved the tenacious D and the timely shooting. Everyone stepped up.

Heartbreaking to hear about Deegan. Is there allowable public information about Sylvie? Out for season or some possibility of return?

Re: Up next: VCU

Yeah . . We looked fantastic in the 1st, struggled thereafter. Offensive rebounding by VCU and long stretches without a bucket.

We're capable of beating them and are having a great season. But we just let them dictate.

Tough loss for the ladies. I know they'll be more disappointed than us.

Ugly ugly shooting night. Thankfully, GW has no idea how to shoot FTs.

Re: Next up: St Joe's

We waited too long to really compete. Sutphin is pretty unstoppable inside. Wish we had more effectively used her in the first half.

It'll be interesting to see which direction this team goes. We have enough talent to play through this but we'll have to see.
