Re: North Carolina Teams - RPI
There are 295 D1 baseball programs. We are #267 in walks allowed per 9 innings (6.61), #254 in WHIP (1.93), and #254 in ERA (7.94). In 28 games we have hit 36 batters, tying us for #153. At one time, our ERA was >10.00, so there is that.

Re: Up next: at VCU
5-0 now. We might impose a rule than when a reliever walks 2 guys in the same inning, he comes out. Same song, different verse. Starter (Feczko) pitches very well for 4 1/3 innings, leaves with the Cats behind by only 1-0. Reliever (Champey) comes in and pitches poorly, giving up 4 earned runs on 0...

Re: Up next: at VCU
I followed livestats for a while today. We jumped out to a 2-0 lead. Then 2-1. Then 4-1. Still 4-2 to start the bottom of the 8th. We hit the first guy and walked the next two. I stopped looking. Just checked and I see that the Rams put 5 across that evening. We lost 4-7. Mercifully, I didn't watch...

Re: Caitlin Clark - Like Watchin' Steph
Bob Lanier averaged 27.6 points and 15.7 rebounds per game over his career at St. Bonaventure, and one of the best teams Davidson ever had was overwhelmed by him in 1970. After beating Davidson, that 1970 team beat Villanova to make the Final Four, but Lanier was unable to play due to an injury in t...

Re: Portal
This needs to wind up with a marketplace. Sign players to contracts, be it one year, two year, etc. Allow the two parties to negotiate. My gut would be that would all but eliminate one year players. Alabama's Aaron Estrada is attending his 6th school in 7 years: high school, prep school, St. Peter'...

Re: Portal
I meant he would be our 2nd player from Wisconsin. He'd be our best player from the Badger State. Our best player from the Badger State is Dennis Krioutchenkov on the men's soccer team. Vincent Bennage is second best. Soccer has a solid foot in the door to Wisconsin, and I'm sure Mike Babst would b...

Re: Other scores
I am a Duke alumnus, and I pull for the Blue Devils when they're not playing Davidson. My daughter is a State alumna who lives in Cary and has NCSU season tickets, and she has indoctrinated our 2 grandsons into the Wolfpack nation. They are going nuts. Her husband is a Purdue alumnus, and he loves h...

Re: Up next: St Joe's
Not too long ago, we looked like we had 2 starters. Feczko was excellent in his start on Sunday. And we have some surprise options on the near horizon. Looking much better. I'm glad to see Feczko coming around. He was 10-1 his freshman season, and a member of the freshman All-American team. Last se...

Re: Up next: St Joe's
Cavanaugh pitched well, allowing 2 runs on 4 hits and 3 walks. Fix pitched better, giving up 1 run on 3 hits and 1 walk.
Team ERA is now 7.56, a vast improvement over the 10.00+ that we had about 3 weeks ago.

Re: Meanwhile, at CofC…
I just finished reading Among the Bros , the account of the drug culture that permeated the CofC Greek system in the decade up to 2018, and provided the leaders of the Atlanta and Charleston-based ring that distributed marijuana, Xanax, cocaine, and MDMA (molly) to fraternity houses all over the Sou...

Re: Up next: HPU
High Point just added one more run in the 9th on a walk, stolen base, balk, and wild pitch. 7-1 going to the bottom of the inning. It has not been pretty.
