Re: Clunie Email re NIL

Smart play is to wait it out. The litigation just settled by the NCAA will disrupt the NIL model. We won’t be a direct pay to play school, but why enter a market that is yet defined? That is bitcoin stupid.

Re: Clunie Email re NIL

https://www.espn.com/college-sports/story/_/id/40053021/college-sports-leaders-deep-talks-settle-nil-antitrust-case-vs-ncaa Largest revenue stream for NCAA is March Madness (NCAA hardly gets any football money). I suspect all reserves are pretty much a result of the March Madness TV contracts. So b...

If you are a K-State fan you were rooting for a guy who had (at best) a tangential relationship to your school. Although I don't think the young man played all that much.

Re: Portal

This needs to wind up with a marketplace. Sign players to contracts, be it one year, two year, etc. Allow the two parties to negotiate. My gut would be that would all but eliminate one year players.

Re: Season Over

It was a national story on The Athletic this morning. The comments descended into politics. Pretty typical of the national discourse: Red blooded America TCU toughed it out. Woke Davidson quit on the season. At least some commentators were familiar with Davidson and pointed out the slight difference...

Re: Up next: Fordham (CANCELLED)

When my Athletic feed pops up with a 2-0 score for a game to be played today, my first thought was bad mushrooms in the spaghetti sauce last night.

Re: No limit on stupid

:D Dr. Bliss has a great suggestion. Students should be given a tour of the campus by a botanist who can point out unique plants and trees. Someone went to a lot of trouble to nail those little tags on every tree on the front lawn. My dad agreed to send me to Davidson when we were walking around the...

If he has another poor season, he should hire Bobby Bonilla's attorney or the Silna brothers to negotiate his buyout.

I have an idea. Don't count corporations as persons for sake of the First Amendment, but eliminate corporate taxation, and don't allow them to be sued as persons.
