I expect that they expect to start or play starters’ minutes. Like Brizzi and Moss did.

Re: Portal
Davidson is losing players who played 2,610 of the total 6,500 minutes played this past season. Here’s the breakdown by player: - Huffman: 1,088 minutes (34.0 mpg) - Brizzi: 592 (18.5) - Skogman 424 minutes in 17 games, which would have been 798 across 32 games at the same mpg (24.9) - Spadone: 323 ...

Re: Portal
I can’t help wondering if it isn’t the right strategy in the current transfer environment. Most coaches are only going to play eight or so players major minutes. If you have five scholarship players sitting on the bench, they’re probably wondering if they might be better off elsewhere. That can crea...

Re: Portal
Have we heard what Schulte’s plans are? I believe we know where every other Davidson player who entered the portal ended up (Brizzi to Longwood; Huffman to Vanderbilt; Moss to Radford; Skogman to DePaul; and Spadone to Bucknell).

Breakdown by conference of number of transfers, percentage of players transferring, and percentage of minutes transferring: https://twitter.com/EvanMiya/status/1786064308025401743 I don’t know (didn’t see and didn’t dig) how he dealt with grad transfers like Huffman and Skogman. Presumably they’re i...

Re: This Season - A Tale of Shooting (or Lack Thereof)
What was the team’s record with a PG who couldn’t shoot but at least didn’t shoot a lot?

Re: This Season - A Tale of Shooting (or Lack Thereof)
Huffman (another sub-30% three-point shooter for his career, but better than 27.6%) took a three every 16.4 minutes.

Re: This Season - A Tale of Shooting (or Lack Thereof)
The coaches just recruited (and ultimately missed out on) a guard transfer who made 8 threes (on 29 attempts, so 27.6%) in 578 minutes across two seasons of college basketball. Do we believe that would have helped?

Re: Clunie Email re NIL
Davidson (and Dayton and Duke) does not take money in or pay money out for NIL.

Re: Clunie Email re NIL
When it comes to NIL, which is what this thread is about (or at least what I’ve been talking about on this thread), what could/should the College do that it’s not doing? Scholarships aren’t NIL. Facilities aren’t NIL.

Re: Clunie Email re NIL
Great. That there isn’t world peace doesn’t mean you’re not all in on world peace. Just like the fact that Davidson isn’t associated with the biggest-dollar NIL deals doesn’t mean that it isn’t all in. We’ve got two groups of folks on here who seem to refuse to believe the College’s repeated stateme...

Re: Clunie Email re NIL
The College is all in. The College doesn’t and can’t (yet) pay players—via NIL or whatever it ends up getting called. The College can’t force fans to give to the collective or directly to players. But the College is doing all it can. It’s all in.
