Re: Pay for Play & Lawsuits
Non-athletes have never been prohibited from receiving pay while in school. Whether a school will pay over and above a scholarship for a cellist or thespian is up to the school. Until these students generate considerable revenue the market probably won’t support recruiting with pay.

Since we entered the A10 we’ve had a PG named POY and a runner-up (JAG and JGibbs). There is opportunity in the system.

Re: Newest Kool Aid recruiting thread
The NCAA rules were horrible. Kids, often w less than savvy parents, couldn’t seek professional advice. For a long time this included lawyers as well as traditional agents. Then someone who hired a lawyer was declared ineligible. A lawsuit followed. Surprise, judges, who are lawyers, found it improp...

Re: Battle for Atlantis
Once we stopped there on a cruise. Since we had kids we booked a room at a neighboring motel w pool/water park privileges at the resort. The kids had a blast. I almost fell asleep on the lazy river. Very nice except for the noticeable pale image on my belly where my hand blocked the sun’s rays bette...

Edwards had a lousy pre draft workout w GS. He thought he was working hard. Kerr told him how bad it was. After watching Steph and some others Edwards realized Kerr was right. He had to learn how to really work hard. Apparently he’s figured it out.

George Greer, who drove in the winning run in the Pan Am games gold medal game against Cuba (circa 1967), before reaching AAA with the Cardinals and coaching DC, is from RI. That Cuban team was loaded w players who could have played in the majors if given the opportunity.

Re: This Season - A Tale of Shooting (or Lack Thereof)
We had Loyer, MJ, and Lee. Then we had Grant, Kochera in a down year, and Des. Then we had Grant, a better Kochera, and Brizzi in an unexpectedly poor shooting season. The biggest difference was the outside shooting abilities of the players. Durkin is a good shooter, but he was the only one other D’...
