Good contest, I guess. VMI was picked DFL in the preseason poll. https://soconsports.com/wsoc/article/bl ... 5309dbad5/

So were we. https://atlantic10.com/news/2024/8/13/s ... title.aspx
UNCG defeated VMI 5-1 recently.

Re: WSOC

We should play Wake Forest in women's soccer annually. They are close and very good. They have beaten Stanford and Virginia this season. They had a big crowd for the Stanford match. Losing to a good non-conference opponent won't hurt our chances of going to the NCAA Tournament. We'll need to win the...

Re: WSOC

After 6 games, they had been outscored 16-3 and were 0-6. Then they beat UNCW 3-0 and then Davidson.

I don’t mind losing to VCU 1-0 in women’s soccer most years. They should be consistently near the top of the A10.

Re: WSOC

VCU was 1-6 coming into the game and dominated the statistics.

How could VCU have been 1-6?

Ralph was the principal at Northwest Guilford, where Elizabeth played. She was a star at VPI, but was injured late in her senior/last year. She was picked in the 2nd round of the WNBA draft, but is still recuperating from her injuries.

Re: 2024-25 Schedule

VCU hosts Penn, too, but their schedule is surprisingly wimpy. St, Mary's is a D2 or D3 team and it is an exhibition. Elizabeth City State is a D2 team, too. Penn is their best nonconference opponent by far. Dayton playing Xavier, even in an exhibition, is surprising. Supposedly Xavier has kept Dayt...

Re: Wake Forest admits the truth

Wake has replaced Mississippi with a road trip to Oregon State on next year's schedule. The Beavers will come to Winston Salem in 2029, or earlier if the teams can agree on a date. Wake's non-conference schedule next year will be Oregon State, Kennesaw State, Western Carolina, and Delaware. The last...

Re: 2024-25 Schedule

The last 2 home games have been moved to, or were always scheduled on, 12/21 and 12/28. Those are Saturdays. 12/22 wasn't good because there's a Panthers' home game that day. 12/28 is better than 12/29 because a Saturday game is almost always better than a Sunday game. Look at the schedule attached ...

Re: 2024-25 Schedule

William Peace used to be Peace and was a women's school. They went coed a few years ago and added "William" to their name to emphasize they are a coed school now. (That's a joke. There's probably a better reason they added William to their name.) They are a Division III school and play in the USA So...

Dartmouth transfer Ivan Hoyt has caught 3 passes for 60 yards for Davidson this season.

Keep up the good work!

At least we don’t have to worry about anyone hiring our coach away.

Is it too obscure if we nickname our coach Paul Hewitt?

Re: Up next: Point

Everyone gets to dress out and play, hopefully.

There used to be a rule that Pioneer League Schools could only dress 56 players for conference games. That was/is to save costs.

It may still be the rule.

Barton was Atlantic Christian College until 25 years ago. They won the NCAA D2 men's basketball championship in 2007(?). They used to play in the Carolinas Conference against Guilford, High Point, and Pfeiffer in the 1960s. Famous alumni include Ava Gardner and Dr. William Nixon, a nephrologist. Nix...

Have you Googled Dale Earnhardt Chevrolet?

Yes, they sponsor all kinds of Davidson athletic events. They make noise when a Wildcat hits a 3.

But little E has nothing to do with that dealership or the number 3.
