Re: Welcome Joe Hurlburt!

I saw his stats and was very unimpressed. I watched his videos and had the opposite response. He will help us immediately. We still need some more help, but Joe makes us better. I had similar reactions, which brought to mind Clint Mann. Clint had underwhelming stats at Iowa St., but big impact at D...

Effective field goal percentage is weighted for three pointers but also factors in two point FG percentage
I had always thought that the formula also accounted for FT%.
That might be Total Shooting Percentage

Todd Haines and Conor Bree? :D
It was cool bumping into Todd at a HS game in Urbana 15 years ago. He dispelled a myth I'd held for years.

Re: Welcome Zach Laput!

I have a strong (though not total) preference that athletes who play sports at Davidson be Davidson-degree seeking students. If I were still a student, I'd want the players on the teams I routed for to have rosters full of classmates and hallmates, with similar academic challenges, requirements, and...

This news does NOT make me want to hurl.

His hometown (Enderlin, No. Dak) is listing as having a population of 881 in the 2020 census
Enderlin dwarfs Hiddenite, where I had my '67 Beetle worked on a few times.

If Steph is to get his 5th championship ... this young man will be his #1 teammate: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=ylc4taZ_QWc Great interview. He wants to be a "Warrior for life"! Very thoughtful young man. There is no doubt that he has superstar potential. Hopefully Kerr will either facilitate h...

Re: It has come to this - Camelot is Gone

Fellowship of Christian Athletes speakers often got the worst treatment, though the student body was overwhelmingly Christian and a high percentage were athletes. That's funny! Were they pilloried for being holier-than thou, boring, or preachy? My one interaction with FCA in high school was the hea...

Re: Welcome Zach Laput!

Where might we learn more about the Davidson certificate program? Is it detailed on the website, and how many different types of such certificates are offered? Here's one, maybe? https://hurthub.davidson.edu/applied-entrepreneurship-certificate/ Maybe we'll learn about the development of more tradi...

Re: It has come to this - Camelot is Gone

The absurdity of this blacks as victims narrative pales in comparison to the more than a century ban on women enrolling at Davidson. The women’s total barrier to admission must have disadvantaged thousands of young scholars from the privilege of being a life long member of the Camelot community. Wh...

Re: George Lawrence Abernethy Library

Davidson has announced an $85 million library "transformation," made possible by gifts of $60 million from the Duke Endowment and $25 million from Dr. Abernethy's son Bob. The Duke gift is the largest in college history. https://www.davidson.edu/news/2024/04/18/transformative-60-million-gift-larges...

Re: Portal

There was a story in The Athletic about FB players who'd been to three schools, with the focus being on which school the player felt ultimate loyalty to. One of the players they talked to was Chase Brice, who played QB for Clemson, Duke and App St. They also talked to a player who spent most of his...

Re: Steph update

Convincing win over the Lakers last night. The Big Three, The Splash Brothers, the Rookies, Maple Jordan, and other affiliated groups and individuals showed up and showed out in Los Angeles last night. 26 threes (at 63%!), 37 assists and 12 blocked shots, pretty much tells the story of the Dubs' do...
