Re: Quadruple stupidity

In honor of this year's victim of Darth Vader, Indiana State, here's the Feinstein classic. https://www.washingtonpost.com/wp-dyn/content/article/2007/03/14/AR2007031402021.html "There's no doubt in my mind that Darth Vader and his companions from The Empire (the other power conference commissioners...

Quadruple stupidity

The NET and quad system is idiotic. The RPI was idiotic. It was, in fact, so stupid that the NCAA kept it a secret for years. It was only when someone on the committee blurted out the name to justify some totally ridiculous selections (IIRC Georgia and Oklahoma one year when they were barely above ....

Re: In Game: A-10 Round One vs Fordham

Raptor,

Please send me a notice when you talk about me in your thread start. I never read them. This was the first one I've read all season and that was only because the unusual format caught my eye. If I've missed previous mentions, sorry.

Re: In Game: A-10 Round One vs Fordham

Skinny, weak big guy doesn't bend knees on defense. Gets hammered back by aggressive Fordham big and his body smacks the hell out of a Davidson guard trying to play defense. We don't see that every day. Of course, we don't really want to see that ever. But if we are weak enough, and poor enough on f...

Re: minus one

It really hurts at the end of close games if your primary ball handler isn't a clutch free throw shooter and can't score with both hands around the basket. At least half of Grant's drives to the hoop looked like out of control moves with a prayer at the end for a foul call. Jag was like that, until...

Re: In Game: at St. Joe's

Air ball. Really bad air ball.

I think we might have gotten spoiled over the years expecting our guys to play smart, fundamental basketball as individuals and as a team.

Re: In Game: at St. Joe's

Don't pick up the dribble and get trapped. And then feet aren't set on jumper. Sloppy.

Fundamentals matter. Focus on execution.

Re: In Game: at St. Joe's

Another shot from the block with no chance whatever of going in.

At some point, Matt needs to have a conversation about what constitutes a quality shot.

I wish we would get Durkin the top of the key trailer shot that Skogman used to shoot. He struggles to get his feet under him and set when shooting from the diagonal.
footwork is fundamental. Could be fixed in a month over the summer. Or less.

Re: In Game: at St. Joe's

10-33 in 11 minutes

Another layup that gets nowhere close to touching rim. That is not optimal.

If that pass miraculously made it through all the traffic, what was he going to do with it?!

The often-inaccurate left hand shove pass without bothering to get the right hand involved is really starting to irritate.
