Re: Portal
I wonder how long we have to wait until athletes can transfer mid-season? Start well and get called up? Get hurt and get sent to the Big South on a rehab assignment? Sure. Why not? NCAA can't stop anything at this point. There’s an Alabama football player who has entered the portal 3 times since mi...

Re: Welcome Zach Laput!
Lots of rules have changed (or gone away?) since COVID and NIL. But you still only get 4 years of eligibility. It is just that 20-21 doesn’t count as using a year. If you were an Ivy or Bentley student and your school didn’t play at all that year you don’t get a fifth, even if others did. Maybe some...

Re: Welcome Zach Laput!
My understanding is that you get 4 years of eligibility, but 20-21 doesn’t count. So he gets to play 22, 23, 24, and next season, 25.

Re: Shooting data for season (by start year)
Not sure on distances but I believe the line moved after 07-08 and again (to the FIBA distance) after the year we played lipscomb in the NIT. I believe we Guinea pigged it in the NIT game.

Re: Newest Kool Aid recruiting thread
What is the new rule? You can just enroll and take classes even if you are not pursuing a degree? I’m assuming these Ivy guys will graduate this spring. Did Foster get a degree from Davidson? Seemed like he could and I assumed he did. But transfers to Davidson after 3 college years are not somethin...

Re: In Game: A-10 Round One vs Fordham
The only Albert Einstein I follow uses the stage name of Albert Brooks Ha. Learn something new everyday. Imagine showing up your first day of college and introducing yourself to your hallmates - “Hi, I’m Albert. Albert Einstein.” First person to tell you they can’t believe your parents named you th...

Re: Davidson's Best Basketball Teams
Here are the Massey ratings each year - pretty close. Massey's ratings show the A-10 champ teams a little higher than your list, with 2022 at 8th best, 2015 9th with a #49 ranking, and 2018 10th at #62. The 72-74 teams also fell in that #62 to #70 range. Here are my picks for the 10 best: Team Recor...

Re: In Game: at St. Joe's
Maybe someone with more direct experience with big sports boosters (stan?) can correct me, but my years of reading about them and now NIL donors indicates that a lot of their motivation is pretty simple: they want to be chatting with their pals and say "I gave $1 million so that Jimmy Joe would play...

Re: In Game: at St. Joe's
I was fortunate enough to sit behind the Arkansas bench when a very good Razorback team was playing in the NCAA first rounds. Nolan Richardson had a meltdown during a time-out when Arkansas was too unselfish - turning down open looks and over passing in hopes of a better shot. He made his point, em...
