Re: T&F

Jack ended up 37th. Grahm Breiter got 30th in the steeple. Jayden Smith had a great run - he won his heat in 13.46 to qualify for Eugene. His time was the 5th fastest of the day. Another run like that may well put him in the national final- the 9 best hurdlers in the NCAA. Edit: Bill's language was ...

Re: Portal

Someone should get involved. This is not NIL, this is simply pay to play. Money should be taxed and donations should into these funds should not be tax deductable. I seem to recall that there is some indication that the IRS agrees with you. If I'm remembering right Michigan converted their fund to ...

T&F: A-10 championship meet

Good performances by the men (4th) and women (6th), with most points coming from conference champions and runners-up across a whole variety of events. Men were winners in the 3000 steeple, 110H, with second place in the shot, discus, javelin. Women were winners in the 10,000, 400H, HJ, with second i...

Effective field goal percentage is weighted for three pointers but also factors in two point FG percentage
I had always thought that the formula also accounted for FT%.
That might be Total Shooting Percentage

Re: Portal

I wonder how long we have to wait until athletes can transfer mid-season? Start well and get called up? Get hurt and get sent to the Big South on a rehab assignment? Sure. Why not? NCAA can't stop anything at this point. There’s an Alabama football player who has entered the portal 3 times since mi...

Re: Welcome Zach Laput!

Lots of rules have changed (or gone away?) since COVID and NIL. But you still only get 4 years of eligibility. It is just that 20-21 doesn’t count as using a year. If you were an Ivy or Bentley student and your school didn’t play at all that year you don’t get a fifth, even if others did. Maybe some...

Re: Welcome Zach Laput!

My understanding is that you get 4 years of eligibility, but 20-21 doesn’t count. So he gets to play 22, 23, 24, and next season, 25.

Not sure on distances but I believe the line moved after 07-08 and again (to the FIBA distance) after the year we played lipscomb in the NIT. I believe we Guinea pigged it in the NIT game.

Re: Newest Kool Aid recruiting thread

What is the new rule? You can just enroll and take classes even if you are not pursuing a degree? I’m assuming these Ivy guys will graduate this spring. Did Foster get a degree from Davidson? Seemed like he could and I assumed he did. But transfers to Davidson after 3 college years are not somethin...
