Re: Portal

At some point, you start running into a school's academic enrollment policies. There are firm dates for enrollment and withdrawal. Although it would not impact scholarship players, walk-on transfers would have federal student loan deadlines to meet.

Re: Meanwhile, at CofC…

My favorite part of that story - police found a box labeled "definitely not stolen mineral fossils" containing allegedly stolen fossils.

Re: Newest Kool Aid recruiting thread

I guess I don't understand our interest in senior transfers. The two guys from Cornell, for instance, are both seniors who saw a lot of time on the court. Surely they're looking for something like a step up to a P5 program for a 1-time shot at the tourney. I also wonder how many senior transfers ha...

Re: Other scores

When will they stop giving an outrageous number of bids to the Mountain West. Ugly start for them. As for this being the year for the SEC . . . Maybe not (oh, and special thanks to Auburn for destroying my bracket). This article breaks down conference performance well: https://www.sbnation.com/colle...

Re: Portal

I feel like there are a LOT of players entering the portal and that having multiple players enter the portal is not necessarily a "sky is falling" moment. But I do wonder, at the end of the day, how many of these players will actually leave. My main concern is that the player development and chemist...

Jarvis is an athletic 3-point shooter who couldn't shoot.
I was thinking the same thing. He has the length and athleticism to be a great player. But he shot 23% from the field and 8% from 3pt. I wish him nothing but the best. I had high hopes.

Cook
Kroll
Gibbs
Himes
Why don't I know who Himes is?

I obviously know the other three.
Himes was my era. A physical specimen and a very good player but not top 15. I also think, as good as Gibbs was, not top 15 based on his whole body of work.

I’m not sure if he was one of the best 15, but if I was making a 15 man roster I’d take Ian Johnson. His size and sneaky lefty game could score on anyone.
Best player on the court against Duke, according to Coach K.

Re: Portal

I'm really sad about Schulte. He was earning good minutes and showing the potential to be a classic Davidson big. That size combined with that skill is hard to come by. I think the biggest challenge for us in the portal is our system. I feel like Brizzi is just now starting to get it. It's a long le...

Re: This Season - A Tale of Shooting (or Lack Thereof)

After watching us miss bunnies, put-backs, short turn-arounds, FTs, and threes this season, the primary question I have is how many shots can our players put up in the off-season. They need to see the ball go through the hoop (a) a LOT; (b) from a lot of different places on the court; (c) consistent...

Re: Elle Sutphin Returns

This is fantastic news. This was such a fun team to watch when they were firing. I bet they can't wait to get back on the floor (HEALTHY!) and compete again.

Re: In Game: at St. Joe's

We had such a nice first half. It was a taste of what we thought this team could do. Take out the brain farts at the end and there are a lot of positives. Start to 2nd half looks more like our recent play - harassed, over-played, with no offensive answers. Fix our shooting and the offense opens up. ...

Re: In Game: vs. Loyola Chicago

This has been painful to watch. This is how our offense works when teams don't have to respect the three and are allowed to body up and hold on the cuts. Loyola is legit. We fight hard and defend pretty well. We just don't have the ability to score.

UMass brought their refs.
Did we get the scrubs today. They're making all kinds of phantom calls and missing legit fouls.
