It occurs to me that one of the true losses in this new world of college athletics is the loss of community and long-term friendships and relationships that are formed along the way in the trenches and in the gyms.

I don't see how some awkwardness can be avoided. I assume players who have declared for transfer will be there? Or have any of them already left school?

Seems like we need a catch-all thread to discuss the rapid changes in college athletics we are seeing these days. Here's my first entry:
