So I left the Navy and went to work for a bank, which was much more regimented and persnickety about dress codes and things like that. But it was interesting.
Then my marriage fell apart in spectacularly messy fashion. Somebody could make a really bad but accurate movie about that time in my life, but the critics would sniff, “Lacks credibilityâ€.
So I became a single parent of two young children, which made a lot of changes in my Thanksgiving Tree. It was an interesting pruning job, with my individual branch deleted from my former in-laws’ tree, but my kids were quite properly still attached.
Back in the early 70’s we still had milk delivery, and I was on a schedule appropriate for a home with two small kids. Whenever they were away, I would usually forget to halt the deliveries and so the gallons would pile up.
I didn’t want to waste the extra deliveries, so I made pudding, which I thought would last longer.
Thanksgiving came around and the kids went off to be with their mother for the holiday. She was back with her parents so it worked out OK for almost everybody.
For me, things seemed unusually quiet around the apartment. I had not yet developed any other potential Thanksgiving Tree attachments, so I was on my own. I was living a few blocks from a major road intersection, with an overabundance of fast food joints, so I set out walking to make some kind of solo food run.
I had not realized that even the fast food industry shuts down for Thanksgiving. The hotels and fancy restaurants were open, but that did not feel like a reasonable alternative, considering my situation.
So I went home and ate pudding.
It was not a particularly good Thanksgiving.
But things got better.

Before the benediction, I want to lay claims of relevance for some of this extended tale:
My elder son, who was part of this rambling history, has a son who is a student at UNCC.
Game Relevance!
Also, said son is studying to be an actuary, of all things.
Board Relevance!
Go Cats!

So my schedule does not allow me to make it to the arener tonight. Has anyone attempted the ESPN+ service yet? I know it is one more attempt for Disney to squeeze all the sports dollars out of us but I would like to see the Cats beat our cross town green goblins. _________________ "They were energized by this move to the A-10. It's a good deal and works well, plus you can go back and view the games later if you want. Don't wait till the last minute to sign up; it takes a few minutes to jump through the hoops. _________________ "There ain't no sanity clause!" Chico Marx |

Thanks, the hoop jumping will commence now. _________________ "They were energized by this move to the A-10. How could you not be?" McKillop said. "The tree is filled with a lot of presents." |

I've had good luck with it. It is sometimes hard to find the games on the site but I see it's already listed tonight as "Upcoming" at 7:00. _________________ The best thing Davidson ever did was to admit women to classy up the place. |

Has anybody else noticed that the board’s cat clock hasn’t fallen back yet? |

I have a picture but the sound and quality are horrible, what say you. _________________ "They were energized by this move to the A-10. How could you not be?" McKillop said. "The tree is filled with a lot of presents." |

I'm worried that the sound issues will suddenly be resolved and it will be quite loud. |

Sound is now up, and the scoreboard has appeared. Also, the action seemed jerky at first but the speed is back up.
I guess they had to prime the electron pump. _________________ The best thing Davidson ever did was to admit women to classy up the place. |
