Davidson hasn't played Dartmouth in a long time. Last home game was in January of 1977. One of the few wins that season. Revenge game vs Gary Walters. Sterling Edmonds and Larry Cubas left the Charlotte Coliseum with an L. 20 points for Marvin Lively.

He will be....lunch and game, then off somewhere for football the next morning.

Speaking of people that left town, I had this freshman kid call me out from the student section last night.....made me feel incredibly old!

Ha. Mr. Entitlement right in the front row of Section 30. Will be really fun looking for him on the game broadcasts each night. He's totally in his element. Can't imagine another first-year student being in a place that he/she is more comfortable. He's loving it.

It took me a minute to realize your son wasn't 8 years old anymore. Yeesh.

Glad he's loving it. He hasn't tripped down the library stairs, I assume?

I was there for that one. I also have a recollection of a Coliseum match-up that year with St. John's, ending with a buzzer-beating fast-break pull-up jumper in the lane by Gerdy ... that missed Sad

Then again, not sure if I'm remembering that correctly, so please correct me as needed!

We lost to St. John's 58-57 in late November. I don't remember anything about that game. St. John's was 23-9 that season and went to NCAA Tournament.

We lost to Wake Forest 70-68 on 2/16/77. That was a very good Wake Forest team that went to the NCAA Tournament when it was much harder to earn a bid because the field was smaller. Didn't Frank Johnson hit a long shot for the Deacons' winning margin? I was thinking Gerdy missed a shot at the buzzer, but maybe that was the St. John's game.

I wasn't at the Wake game, but my recollection is that Gerdy hit the shot that tied the game at 68(was fouled, not called), then Frank hit the winning shot.

Thanks for that memory from my senior year. I missed that game as I was on an EU seminar that quarter. Good for Marvin. Didn’t realize he had a 20 pointer that year.

Seemed like Frank had a 30 year NBA career. I remember seeing coming off the bench for Phoenix? eons after I graduated.

That's fantastic. Despite really feeling my age, it was very nice of him to get my attention and say hello. You raised him right....Seemed very happy and content. It will be great watching him grow at Davidson the next four years.

Very Happy In 1976-1977, Cats with wftc 1-0, without 4-22. Cool
