The PFL went 0-6 against FCS competition this week.
Going forward, the PFL needs to tweak the schedule so the presumptive favorites do not play each other. With Presbyterian joining next season, that will be easier to arrange.
If we have 2 undefeated teams in conference play and designate them "co-champions", one will secure the league's automatic bid to the FCS playoffs and the other has a chance to be awarded an at large bid. A&T was given an at large bid in 2016 and the 2nd place team in the Big South was given one last season.
This is the opposite of what the A10 did in men's basketball last season. The top 3 played each other twice in the regular season and met in the tournament.
The FCS selection committee doesn't use RPI or other ratings exclusively. They're impressed by a 10-1 or 9-2 record. |
