Dear Wildcats!
Happy March Madness! The season has finally come to an end, and I couldn’t be more proud of the progress we made this year. Our ’Cats played their hearts out from start to finish, and it showed in how we climbed the ladder in the A-10. After being picked to finish last (14th) in the conference, we found a way to come in 9th with a 7-9 conference record, and doubled our overall win total from six last year to 12 this season. In addition, we saw individuals gain All A-10 recognition. Mackenzie Latt ’18 was named to the A-10 All League Third team, and Katie Turner ’21 was named to the All-Rookie team. Both of them had outstanding years, and I was happy to see them recognized by the league’s coaches.
One of the highlights of our season included a very big win over VCU on Senior Day. We were able to honor Chloe Johnson ’18, Mackenzie Latt ’18 and Saadia Timpton ’18 (pictured above) in the best way possible â€" leaving Belk Arena to a standing ovation with a win. All three seniors are set to graduate in May and have exciting plans after graduation. Mackenzie and Chloe are exploring options to play professionally, and Saadia has accepted a full scholarship position in UNC-Chapel Hill’s sports administration graduate program. They have been incredible leaders for our program and have very bright futures ahead of them. We are all going to miss them!
I could not be more grateful for the type of place Davidson is, and I am thankful for all the support I have already received. This community, filled with amazing and talented people, is truly one of a kind. I am so happy that each of you is part of this family, and I am anxious to get to know you better and continue to share our journey with you.
Go ’Cats!
