Massey: #245 at #314, 45% chance of winning, predicted score is 64-62.

App State is 0-3. They lost by 34 to Ga. Tech at home, by 21 at Radford, and by 13 to ETSU at home.

So far, the Mountaineers have started three sophomores and two freshmen in each game, and all eight of their leaders in minutes per game are underclassmen. Stats leaders are 5-8 guard Tierra Wilson (13.3 ppg) and 6-4 center Bayley Plummer (8 ppg, 12.7 rpg).

Go Cats!

Derek's feed is up... https://goo.gl/ApaX7k
Live stats... https://goo.gl/Tcdmfi
ESPN3... http://www.espn.com/watch/player?id=3202727

Starters: Katie, Saeeda, Andrea, Justine, Mackenzie

App State is starting 2 sophomores and 3 freshmen.

Cats in man-to-man, App State in a zone.

1st qtr, under 5 minutes, 11-4, Cats, and App State calls time. We'd be up more than 10 if we'd make a few of these wide-open outside shots we're getting. Mackenzie has 5, Sarah 4.

End of 1st qtr, 18-8. ASU has 9 turnovers, leading to 11 Wildcat points. We are effectively blitzing the high ball screens they run each possession.

2nd qtr, under 5 timeout, 26-13. Sarah leading the way with 8 pts off the bench. Cats are only 3-12 from deep, all three from freshmen. Good looks, though.

Halftime, 28-21, Wildcats. Not good shooting by either team. ASU has stopped turning it over. Davidson with only 4 turnovers. Sarah has 8, Mackenzie with 5 and 3 rebs, Justine with 4 and 4 rebs.

ASU pulled to within 4. Cats then started pressing full court, quick 6-0 run, 37-27 lead, timeout ASU.

This team does a nice job of moving their feet on defense, big improvement over recent years in that area.

Under 5 timeout, 3rd qtr, 42-31, Davidson. Mackenzie with 11 now, much of it from turnovers off Wildcat pressure. Sarah has 10, Justine 7. ASU has 5 turnovers this quarter, leading to 6 Davidson points.

End of 3rd qtr, 46-41, Wildcats, who are shooting 33% from the field, and 24% from 3. Rebounds are about even. Cats turned it over 7 times that quarter, versus 8 times for ASU.

4th qtr, under 5 timeout, 49-44, Cats. ASU had pulled within 2. Sarah will shoot a pair after the break. ASU being very physical this period.

1:10 left, 57-51, Cats.

Same score, 36 seconds, ASU to inbound after a timeout.

App St hits a 3, 57-54, 29 seconds.

Justine to the line... miss, miss.

App St hits another 3, we're tied. Timeout Davidson, 16 seconds.

Justine drives and scores, up by 2 with 6 seconds left.

Final, 59-57, Wildcats. Whew.

Not pretty, but it's a road win, and we finally get to go home.

Mackenzie had 14 plus 7 rebs. She also had 2 blks, which moves her to #8 on the all-time list. Sarah also with 14, along with 5 rebounds. Justine had 12 pts including the game-winner, and 7 rebs. Saeeda scored 10 in her debut as a starter. Saadia had 6 rebs, 5 stls, and good 2nd half defense on ASU's point guard.

Except for the 3rd qtr, Cats took good care of the basketball. ASU committed 25 turnovers. Rebounds ended up even at 43.

Its amazing to me just how good the massey predictions are, especially this early into the season. Got the two point margin of victory right, and 64-62 is very close to 59-57.
