So they have the A10 as a one or two bid league. Hope they are wrong. |

I am optimistic about the 'Cats, but concerned for our league if we are the A10's best hope at an at-large bid. We have a loooot of question marks, in my opinion. |

Quote: | A trip to the NCAA Tournament is not a far off goal, but there are a lot of good teams to contend with and it could all come down to the conference tournament since it seems likely that the A10 will beat itself up too much to get more than two bids to the NCAA Tournament.

Obviously, it is frustrating that when the A10 beats itself up it gets 2 bids and when the ACC does the same thing, it gets 9. _________________ This is a post by BDF, not BDL. |

Don't undersell your point. The ACC's over/under this year on bids is likely 9.5 or 10.
Or do you think the new ratings measurment will benefit the little guys? |

6 top 100 teams isn't bad but 1 tournament team is an undersell for sure.

And projected for the NIT. I just don't see the A10 as a one-bid league. _________________ "McKillop is a gentleman. He could have played 'name that score' if he so desired."---St Joe's fan |

Bates will be the foreword. I don’t know whether that will just be at the Fast Break Club or in the arena that he will introduce the games. _________________ Μεγάλη ἡμÎÏα εἶναι ΛÏγξ |

I was really hoping to learn who would be in charge of epilogues this season. _________________ The basic entrance fee to being a good person is to listen to and believe people who lack a privilege you have. |

If we repeat: Top 30 in FG% and 3pt%; Top 20 in assists; Top 10 in 3s and FT% and TOs and A/TO ratio we'll have a decent season.
Being in the Top 30 in FG% while shooting as many 3s as we do is remarkable. |

I like our upside this year- but so much is left to be determined. Team chemistry, for example, is a fragile variable-- and perhaps significantly more important than the individual players that take the court on a given night. How we come together as a team will largely determine how much better we can be than 59. |

Did a little research. Since the field expanded in 1985, the Atlantic 10 has been a one-bid conference four times in 34 seasons. The last two of those were the 2001-02 and 2004-05 seasons. Here are the rest of the numbers:
Two bids (6 times)
Three bids (16 times)
Four bids (4 times)
5 bids (3 times)
Six bids (once).
Obviously, the league could have a down year, but, over the last 34 seasons the A10 has averaged 3 bids each year.
I just don't buy the "beat each other up" theory. If that were true, then it would have been a problem in years past. Having a bunch of Top 100 teams means a lot of opportunities for quality wins, particularly on the road. I believe the new quadrant system weighs home vs. road wins differently so a quality conference should help the league even more as we'll be able to get more road opportunities than schools in weaker conferences. |

I don't mind the lowered expectations of this article...well, really I do mind, but c'mon folks, the writer(s) don't appear to have any idea about our new or returning players beyond the three returning starters. |

Or how those three returning starters will be used. _________________ This is a post by BDF, not BDL. |
