Well, the Big Greenie didn't hold us to 80 points, and no need for voting on Colt - Carter Collins unanimous selection. Wow, what a scary, but ultimately rewarding, night. _________________ All that is necessary for the triumph of evil is for men of good will to do nothing. Eddie Burke

Their excellent 3 point shooting, and our awful shooting on 3's almost sealed the deal for them. |

Oh...and Bob finding a way to win. Five guards, man-to-man pressure, etc. He tried everything; something finally worked. |

Yeah, this is one of those games where you got the sense that Bob was try to overcome execution with scheme. We couldn't close out on shooters on defense, and couldn't get our motion offense going on the other end. He finally found a way for us to defend better, and we started scoring off penetration.
I may not have loved the way we won, but this is the kind of let down game we have lost at least 1-2 times per year lately. How great that our guys gutted out a victory! _________________ "He scores 30 points and he thinks he can call me Bob." |

They played awful. That was one of the worst games I’ve seen them play relative to the opponent in 4 years. In the end though they won and they’ll learn from it. This team still has miles to go before its a good team. |

I would hate to let the board pass up a golden opportunity to squabble over semantics. Ill call this a great win, in a game we didnt play great!
Lot of grit to win an early season game when the other team shot lights out and we couldnt seem to buy a three pointer. A lot of teams, especially with this many new players could have folded under the shooting onslaught. Im very impressed we put things together and got the win. On to Charleston/Wichita!! |

Since we have beer in the arener now let me fill up everyone’s half empty cup.
First, Dartmouth shot lights out. We gave a few a few open looks, but they also made some really tough, late clock shots. So, good for them. They shot 46% from 3.
We on the other hand, kept missing wide open threes. How many times this decade have we had a night like that and lost, because we had no other options? Tonight we had 6’5†guards getting to the rim and a 6’10 guy who knows he’s 6’10â€. We had 50+ points in the paint.
Jag’s pass to Carter was pure TCC. Carter knocking down that 3 might be the biggest shot of his life, and he nailed it.
I’m sure there are lessons to learn from that game, and I’m confident that the coach’s will teach them.
If your selling after that game, let me know. Because I’m buying stock in this team. _________________ This is a post by BDF, not BDL. |

That thought passed through my mind, but the way they were shooting, coupled with the way we weren't defending the outside shot, a zone would seem to be going in the wrong direction. Of course, as badly as we were playing, maybe any change of pace would have helped. It did seem that our picking up in the backcourt, and making the effort to stick with shooters in the front court probably made the difference. |

A good zone (especially when extended) stops easy 3’s and lulls guys into taking deep/contested shots. Syracuse consistently leads the country in opponent 3pt%. Leaving guys wide open when we do that aggressive hedging thing isn’t working. |
